dear all,

whenever there's any recall in the whole world, only Malaysia is OK...no need recall..not applicable for Malaysian market...
this is not only for recent T*y*t* case or H*n*d* but also for all previous models regardless of the brands or country of origin..
l wonder why...

do we have the best car models in the world? l dont think so..
do we have the best quality-checked models in the world? l dont think so..
do we have the strictest enforcement agencies in the world? l dont think so too...

all we have is "tak apa" attitude...
all we have is the best priced or the most blood-sucking priced cars in the world...

Malaysians won't complain...Malaysians don't care

for safety, nobody bothers to strictly regulate the ABS, Airbags, NCAP etc on our cars...
for recalls, nobody bothers to highlight this strongly..
nobody even cares to even counter check our models to protect the consumers...

in the end, it'll comes back to same end = Tak Apa...

i was working for Milan Auto in 1996, franchise holder for Alfa Romeo. the Alfa 146ti 2.0 with twin airbags was just launched back then.

problems started to occur when several cases of airbags deployed by itself were reported while driving at 50-60kph on normal surface road. it caused injuries to the driver (bruises and trauma) and in fact it almost dragged the company to court though not of its fault.

recall was ordered and all 146 2.0 received new tweaked airbag ECU.

this was just an example of so many recall processes that not many people knew. after all, why do companies like Honda or Toyota wanted to shout out loud for recall activities? it does not make much sense. the more sensible way is to inform the owners themselves to send in cars for inspection and/or replacement of new components.

think.

think.

recall it nothing new in malaysia.

Recalls are the responsibility on the CAR Manufacturers...
If they think, it's worth saving life's... they will do it...
For Developed Foreign countries like USA & UK, their citizen's conscientiousness regarding SAFETY is of the utmost important in their daily life's...
They feel their life's are worth living, and have value...
So, do you think, where we stand...?
It's all about our Malaysian mentality... just about mentality...

Few years back, 2004 or 2005, there's a major defect on the Mercedes Benz braking system SBC module. Anyone remember any recall being made here in Malaysia? smile_blackeye.gif
Ram me if you can!
