Following a vehicle too closely is called 'tailgating'. Tailgating is an agressive driving behaviour that is easily mistaken for road rage. Use the three-second rule to avoid tailgating. Most rear end collisions are caused by the vehicle in back following too closely. If someone is tailgating you, move to another lane or turn off the road as soon as possible and allow the tailgating vehicle to pass.

what annoys me is in a traffic jam, many cars move forwards with huge gaps between themselves and the car in front, sometime 6 or 7 car length, so the knock on effect in a jam is a tailback which is three times longer than it needs to be! That's when the weaving starts!
Even if gap is small, some drivers have extra skills and intimidate the driver until he is allowed to cut in

Normally no one tailgates me in my turbo, unless it is jam....
That day on Federal Highway, right lane jam, then Wajunk came and tail gate me. I took left lane and turbo off. He followed, and then I went back to right lane but slowed down because got traffic. Wajunk followed. Almost reaching Subang, he took left lane and overtook me. On the driver door got word "POLIS"......
