Well guys I just wanna share with you all that finally my ipod and my radio its well connected now .. so happy that I dont have to burn any CDR-W anymore .. as you all may know that we do have an aux option when we pressed the mode selection in our radio , it will jump from CD --> Radio --> aux .. and most importantly is there were a slot for the aux cable at the back of the radio.

what you have to do just connect that aux cable to any mp3 player ( in my case I'm using ipod with 3.5mm head connector size ) walla .. now I can play any music from my ipod .. forget those all fm modulator its really bad I can tell in fact it much better 100 times compare to those fm modulator ..

Switch to the aux option ..

here is my ipod with belkin and aux cable connected to the radio smile_tongue.gif

***** Note this is a bugmenot.com account because I could not be bothered registering just to post this smile.gif ********

For those willing to take the DIY route this is an easy install.

First take out your head unit,
Take a 1-2m 3.5mm audio cable,
Attach left, right and ground to relevant pins on head unit as shown in diagram,
Route cable behind dash and under console to exit near drink holder,
reinstall head unit.

Note: I used PC motherboard header pins for power/hdd/rest etc, just remove from plastic housing and wrap in electrical tape before pushing onto pins.
Note: I installed in Gen.2 should work with most blaupunkt units that have changer controls
Note: At first AUX was not an available source selection, I held in mode for a few seconds and it then became available next to fm/cd

Hope this helps someone!

if pic dies head to pinout source

1) use blunt plastic lever to take out button srround above head unit (pry up)
2) remove button assembly
3) unscrew top of head unit
4) remove 2 screw under head unit (above hvac controls)
5) ***Being a Proton the plastics have a heap of give rather then remove panel below head unit and above HVAC controls I just bent down the corners until bottom screw on head unit cage were visible and then unscrewed it. YOur milage may vary, you may break it...
6) remove head unit, unplug connectors

reassemble in reverse

The cable you need is this:

Cut one end off then strip the ends of the L+R cables within it, the ground is usually bare copper. To attach to headunit pins I removed the black plastic from some motherboard jumper cables exposing the metal and then wrapped in electrical tape to pervent shorting. You will need to solder the ends of the wire on these cables to L, R and Ground on your 3.5mm audio cable respectively (or try twist and tape or terminal blocks...). This will leave you with a 3.5mm to pin header cable to attach.

Most new car now fit with MP3 Aux even Exora have them.

All you need to do is plugin the USB storage with MP3.

Thanks Husker for the nice tips .. that was a nice option for those who are willing to DIY but for those who are prefer to use a standard head connector for their HU , the aux cable its available now ... smile_thumbup.gif
