Well, just finished service my wife's Vios @ 80K...The total cost was around RM1K... smile_blackeye.gif
Maybe, didnt do some of the required services @ 40K...I went to Toyota sc cause the warranty period is still there and there is some faulty parts like faulty power window and fuel regulator problem that I want to claim.
After the warranty period, I would not go back to Toyota SC...
Just like changing brake pad, i do it outside and it only cost half of Toyota SC price.

but make very sure that u get only original parts if u change it outside SC. my 80k km service was RM880 including aircon service with ATF flushing, full synthetic engine oil, necessary filters and oils. very satisfied with job done smile_approve.gif

Is it really necessary to change the gear oil gasket/filter kit when you change the ATF?

It cost around RM115 for genuine Toyota parts, but RM55 for local..

Anything that's got to do with the gearbox, do it at UMWSC only and please use their parts as well.
I think you've heard or experience friends with my horror stories abt a broken gearbox

Guys, if nvr flush ATF and just change the oil only, will be there any problem?

there shouldnt be anything wrong. firstly, toyota does not in any way force customers to do ATF flushing. drain and replenish will do.

but since all toyota auto trannys is using internal filters (in my knowledge), they need to be cleaned too and thus the flushing (which requires 12 litres instead of 4 litres).

IMHO, we can change engine oil by draining at 40K but advisable to flush at 80K or at least during 120K. only applicable to older toyota passenger cars.

No need to flush, I change ATF 2x (40k n 80 k) and selling my vios at 11xk km also ok. in fact, do you notice that you do not need to replace the ATF if you are driving under normal condition?? printed on the ATF stick !!! smile_big.gif
