Dear Seniors,

Just wonder how to maintain a superbike such as Kawa vnII? Looking forward to own one but have no idea what are the maintenance likes? Used to own a kapcai, but i guess this is different category and may need more attention on it before any decision. appreciate your comments + exp. many thanks

cheers

Riding a big bike is all about passion. Just go and get it and ride it. If u think about the time and costs for maintenance, kalau hujan basah juga, then by logic it doesn't make sense. As long as u can afford to maintain yr vios, then comparatively u can maintain a VN250. A big bike may look tough but actually it more manja than a kapchai.

actually its cheaper to maintain a vios than a big bikes..tyre alone wil cost u around rm1000-rm1500 for both front n rear n it only last not more than 10000km(not more than 4000km on sportbikes)....n about reliability, juz take care of its basic needs n follow the manual's book for each maintenance schedule(n please follow) n it all will be fine...lot of people said that big bikes not reliable juz becoz it cost more to maintain so owner tend to ignore...i will reply later in detail..really busy smile_sad.gif

yes...yes... skip the VN250. Get the ER6 instead. Test rode my friend ER6, wow ! jolly excellent. Its so light and easy to handle and its got more low end grunt than my ZZR6. Great for city commuting but I guessed for long distance travel, it might be better to install a wind shield. Heck, with a black pants, black leather jacket and a Rayban on a black ER6, u could look like Tom Cruise on a speed triple in MI.

Amir,

I only have my B2 liciense only, ER 6 is 650 CC so a bit troublesome to go n get a Full B liciense. Seem like i m closer to my teenage dream although it has been many years later......... :0)

Tom Cruise??? come on.... not if i hold my breath, my spare tyre(tummy) will turn the gal off then !!!

hi vios2000,

its actually easy to maintain.

1) just maintain the scheduled maintanence (engine oil,lubricates/replace chains & sprockets & battery)
2) from time to time always wash/clean your bikes.
3) avoid parking in direct sunlight (protection from colour fading)
4) from cold starts, please leave your bike for about 5~8 minutes to have proper engine heats up, battery re-charge and etc. (only for the first ride in the morning for example, 2nd/3rd...should be no problem)
5) always starts without any lights/signals turn on.
6) the first 1000km, please pampered your bike, not full throtle yet. after first service only then can hantam.

others you get advice from the seller of the VNII.
