It is now become a hot topic in the town on the new batch coming pug308 fitted with "moonroof" but pricing will be increased of course.

Most of the new buyers are hesitating to make their choice. Now, what are the advantages and disadvantages? Let's give your opinion at below:

Advantage:
1)
2)
3)
4)
5)

Disadvantage:
1)
2)
3)
4)
5)

I think Alan's comment on this will be very useful as he is the one in our forum currently having moonroof on his GT.

* Pls be reminded that it is jus a moonroof but not sunroof/panaromic roof

My Opinion:

Advantage:
1) Cool Factor
2) Spacious feeling
3) Night Time view of the sky .. imagine at Lunar 16 .. full moon, evening time dramatic clouds .. Cool!
4) No other cars of similar price bracket have it ... better than sunroof cos nvr fear bout leakage
5) No fear of bird shit on roof - chemical resistant ...hehe!
6) Less place to worry bout swirls, scratches.

Disadvantage:
1) Cracked moonroof if hit by stone?
2) Replacement cost
3) Watermarks after washing car
4) Hot sun, extra heat
5) Heavier weight compare to metal counterpart?? (Question mark cos unknown - can be advantage if lighter)

Conclusion: Given the choice, I would still like to have it ..hehe!

Yup..the disadvantages is only apperent if your are a detailing head (ie. like yor car to be shiny, no swirl or watermark)...and for my case (money concious) increase of Hire Purchase rate..from 2++% to 3++%

In 5-7 years (depend on your loan period) - thats a whooping rm5k-7k..add rm3k price increase..alamak..already 8k-10k..hidden price of moonroof smile_tongue.gif eventhough the money is not part of car price..still it will come out of our pocket

Also waiting period and nasim promises will cause extra emotional cost..this moonroof version was initially promissed in end may/early june..

Apart from that...man, its nice little thingy than will make different driving experiance...try mini coopers with and without panaroof before...really different driving experiance..

ohh..i can think of 1 more dis advantage..tinting cost will be a bomb!!

Honestly, the moonroof was the trigger point for me to decide to get the GT, after understanding the performance etc.
After a while, it will get into you... moonroof or no moonroof,..... its nothing great but to show off to others that you have something that they don't... I now drive around with the moonroof closed... but, its nice during dawn or dusk when its not too hot. At night, as a driver, there is no difference but it would be a wow thing for the passengers behind.
In a nutshell, its nice to have it... but even if you don't... no big deal!
Its not what you have...... its how you use it!!
