sorry , it's a racing chip .Saw it at my friend's motorbike shop quite awhile ago . Ask him about it and was told it was to cut off the speed limit or something like that to improve the speed power.

do u mean CDI unit? maybe they changed the CDI unit to limit the engine RPM. we are lucky if it is that simple. some manufacturer even change the cam profile to limit the power the bike produce. smaller carb & manifold also are the contributing factor of power limitation..

if it is a chip plugged into ECU like cars,i don't think so..
coz CDI unit that acts as an ECU in motorbike is well sealed..
even if u rip out open the CDI,all of the electronic parts inside have the code erased...

most of us replaced the CDI to eliminate the rev limiter...

Whatever it's called I 'm not too sure ,what I saw was the unit resemble a cartridge form some like Nintendo gameboy cartridge except it is more bigger.

the LC135 is one fast moped. somehow, the SOHC it uses make it loose to smaller bikes like FX125 with DOHC engine. anyway, its still fast in its own way. this is the reason why Yamaha was required to lightened the speedo reading as an awareness for the riders not to speed.

one easy way to make LC goes faster is convert to 150cc engine and 5 speed gb from FZ.

otherwise, switch the standard CDI to the racing version with higher max rpm.
