What is your tyre size and what price did you get? If your size is an odd size and the discount is good, it may be acceptable. But generally, its already mid 2012, the dates to me should be at least mid-2011 to end 2011 if not early 2012 but really depends on your size.

I agree, at least should be end 2011 and not 2010. If 2010 ask for more discount.
Anyway, does your mom travels a lot? If not, then always better to get the freshest tyres possible....

Almost 100km a day. 2 years 60k km.

215 45 17 rm540 each... Asymmetric 2 is cheaper somemore.
But slow driving style la. Before this bridgestone re050 treadwear 140 can last 55k km

215/45/17 is quite a popular size and yes, even the performance tyres like Goodyear Ay2, GD5, Hankook V12 is cheaper.

Michelin is just too expensive. for my size, XM2 is about RM280. Too bloody expensive for an entry level tyre.

Which shop did your mum go to? Were you with her, she went alone? Many shops like to 'con' women when it comes to these things and nowadays, it pays to shop around for tyre prices. You will have to call / visit a few shops before making your purchase, unless you are like our VRTurbo Sifu who knows tyres and prices like the back of his hand.

not sure if he conned me, he has been regularly kind to me over the last 2 years.. and always gave good price. he even recommended me to get the asy2 instead, im the one insisting to take PLC. he need to order first.. i probably will get conned more if go to other shops. in glenmarie btw.
