hello guys,
i hav a very2 frustrating problem here.
i hav installed the game FEAR 2.
when i run it,there is no sound.
i swap my sound card,still no sound.
i search the net and found the solution.
solution is to install K-lite codec and run the K lite tweak tool.
i Hav done that and still there is no sound.

anybody can help?

here are my setup:
Pentium D 2.8,1 GB RAM, MSI N9600GT,
Sound Blaster X-fi (SB0770).
Previously i was on Sound Blaster X-fi Xtreme Music (SB0460)but i swap it to try solve the problem.
BTW i might letgo the SB0460 if i get a great offer.

go to start>run..type in the box "dxdiag"...go to tab "sound 1",there a slider says hardware sound acceleration level,choose "standard acceleration",if still not work choose "basic acceleration"

still nothing lah bro.
i read somewhere to try and disable mainborad sound hardware is not used.i did that oso nothing.

hmmm that weird...mostly sound related problem for fear2 is becoz of sound acceleration.....do u hv bluetooth,try turning that function off....n check in the game folder for any .exe file or mdos file that u hv to install manually....n one more,do u use ori or pirate..if pirate maybe they left out the sound file to reduce size

bro...there another solution...go to control panel>sounds, speech, and audio devices>"Hardware" tab>"Audio codecs">properties.....see if the following two codecs are present: "IMA ADPCM Audio CODEC"and "Microsoft PCM Converter"......if both r there, select one of them and click on the "properties" button. Make sure "Use this audio codec" is checked, then click OK n do the same with the other one

i got so frustrated that i downloaded the trainer and finish playing the game this evening

just bought Creative Inspire T6060 5.1 speaker system.so very2 added frustrated lah cannot experience the scary till pee in pants moment.

i forgot to ask..hv u update ur graphic card driver n sound card driver?.....n try check www.projectorigincommunity.com for better assistant

checked the site.
people all around the world are experiencing the same problme.
one fix wont solve the problem for all system,it only worked on some system
i hav to wait for them to come up with a patch update if i want to play it with sound.
very jealous of my friend as he can play it without any problem.

BTW,i've fixed the muted speaker when playing movie.
when the media player classis is running,i hav to change the filter setting on the taskbar.
now..syiok.

that why i switch from pc to console for gaming...juz put the disc n play...but still pc offer better graphic wit proper hardware...i got fed up with fallout3 on pc,juz too unstable on my pc..so i bought a xbox360(but it damn noisy)...!note to self,buy smthing wit quality next time(ps3)
