mid transaction of the corner (or in the beginning... if I went overspeed)
But now my tyres SUPER botak already... I dont dare to "sapu" corner
anymore... because botak tyres make my car SUPER hard to get back grip...
Hahaha... if I go a little overspeed... I probaly
oversteered/understeered and fly over a cliff or wall or something :D

for FF car is Handbrake or Left Foot Braking and for sure both you need to
done in high speed.

Please don't be some immature joke and proclaim you've done it before. The
only possible outcome of a FF hand/left-foot brake & counter-steer is
utter waste of tyre & nobody (experienced) is going to be impressed by it
as it's slow and unpredictable compared to a FR.
Granted you maybe sliding or so called drifting you'd have no on-going
momentum to continue the slide since your front wheel which is necessary
to drive the car is not pointing the correct direction to push it. Try
stepping on the accelerator while your counter-steering through the so
called 'drift'. Don't come looking for me if you end up on the
wall/drain/people drinking at the mamak stall.

and if any driver of any of these type of cars, can induce loss of
traction while going around a corner sideways(by whatever method), yet
maintain control of the car, and then drive out of that situation has my
respect :)
as long as no one was hurt(little furry animals included) or otherwise
inconvenienced by it, i have nothing against it.

hahahahahahah.........i guess you're the only one who understands what da
heck am i actually trying to tell. Totally agree with you, that so
called "DRIFTING" for a "FRONT WHEEL DRIVE" is actually a powerslide. By
the way 2shy, have you actually seen anyone drift with a FR? I think i
would laugh my ass off if you compare a drift between a FR & FF. The end
result is like an angel and a clown. I've even seen a FR rally car, driven
by a "PROFESSIONAL" racer, even with his vast experience(over 15yrs in
racing sport) he can't even complete a drift on gravel, and by the way
guys, gravel is loose surface, not like what you guys said, "DRIFTING" on
tarmac with a "FRONT WHEEL DRIVE"
Anyway, 2shy, thanks for understanding my message, i thought i was alone
in the universe. See you in other forum.

explain it.
so what exactly is a powerslide?
and you said a FWD can't drift on gravel also? so what about four wheel
drive like evo and impreza? with so much grip, and traction.. means its
impossible to drift with four wheel drive also?
thanks.

Both have differing reasons for application.
I'm not saying left foot braking is useless, in fact I use it everyday.
Whether I'm on the edge or just driving like my grandma. But only because
FF is the car I can afford
I've lost spun my car so many times that it's a normal occurance to me.
Practise does make perfect, but for what? One has to know when to use it
and why are you using it.
To me, turning & sliding your tail left right (fish tailing) isn't
drifting. Try going for those fast sweeping corners at 160-180 (Karak
Highway & most major highway turn off) and 'drift' your car. Tell me
where'd you end up? Most probably grinding to a complete halt, spining
round and round or fish tailing like crazy.
Whatever the outcome, you'd end up so slow it's impractical. And
personally, posting tips on how to drift/slide here in this forum is like
giving a loaded gun to a 5 year old and asking him to have fun.
You'd think they'd really find track day/empty car park to practise? Go
through the forum again and you'll find the same people saying "I know how
to drift liow" to proclaiming don't drive fast/drift coz it killed my
neighbour's dog or smashed my rim/balded my tire.
Irony?

well discribes the situation most of us are facing.
Glee, i can't say i'm a superb driver, but i like rally alot so i kinda
learned something from my friends who are active in the sport. Imagine
yourself a rally driver, in another 100meters you're approaching a 90
degreece(forgot spelling)right corner, at 50meters you throw your car to
let it fishtail to the left, by the last 20-15meters, you counter to the
right and enter corner in mid point, that is my definition of powerslide,
means you're in control of what you're doing. But the thing is if you're
driving a FF, you will somehow lose traction and power during the exit of
the corner, in other words, powersliding and not drifting. As for a AWD or
4WD, the pushing+pulling power during the exit of the corner is greater
with no power lost and will complete the drift in a proper manner, thus
creating Drifting. Hope it settles you question.
Bottom line is, don't watch to much cartoon for those who like drifting,
cartoon is cartoon(you know which cartoon i'm talking about), real life is
reality, you will get injured or worst make your family mourn for you!
Take care while you drive, and if you want to powerslide your car, find an
empty space.
