I am considering:
1. Honda City
2. Toyota Vios
3. Proton Persona SE

What is your budget? If budget is not your concern, I guess you might want to compare 1. and 2. only.
I suggest you also post it to Toyota forum because if you put in Honda forum, you get all the pros for City; if you post to Toyota forum, you get all the pros for Vios. This is my personal observation, no offense.

Honda City:
1) Best design in looks for interior n exterior
2) Fun factor n feel, if City "E" comes with paddleshift n nice leathers
3) Interior space ok, rear headroom a bit low
4) Resale value sure good could be better than Vios this time
5) 5-speed auto tranny nice
6) Little overweight for 1.5L
7) Mechanical valve timing i-VTEC (full time)
8) Price Most expensive
Toyota Vios:
1) Reliability n durability, more basic engine n wiring for easy repair
2) Ugly dash, meter at centre console n exterior looks so so
3) Cheap empty shell poor egonomics but good engine
4) Resale value good
5) Lightweight n FC wise could be better than new City, unconfirm
6) Interior space worse than City rear headroom space is worse
7) Hydraulic valve timing VVT-i (kicks in at low to mid end only)
8) Price Cheaper than City
Proton Persona SE
1) Handling better than the 2
2) Price Cheaper than the 2
----------------------------------------------------------------------
For me, I'll go for City. It's ok if it's mainly for city use. More fun to drive it around feel classy
Vios also can. Just don't look at it is ok. It has reliability n durability to keep it going n going with low maintenance

I can afford for city, but still thinking whether it is worth it to spent additional 30k for it? any comment?
In long run, in term of FC and maintenance, will city better of all three?

New City FC checked with my friends who owned them said everytime they pump in 30L could get them around 420-440Km at 14Km/L. They usually travel around city area. Articles said the FC of new City is not better than the previous and recorded around 12Km/L. Persona, u could always check the Proton thread for feedbacks or check with your friends on the wear and tear. Maintenance, I still trust Toyota.
If u don't mind waiting, maybe u could wait for new Kia Forte Cerato that looks like Honda. Got 1.6L too and the last feedback given by a Singaporean stated 12Km/L for his 1.6SX (Luxury) with very good handling better than Optra and others of its class. Just not sure how much will NAZA sell it? Maybe 80k, more or less???

If u ask me before this new Honda City launching, difficult to decide.
As for now, decision is very easy already.
Honda City wins ALL.
a) best looks and styling....very appealing and sporty
FC = pretty similar compare to Vios (even not as good as previous City model) <<<Assuming there is 5% better in either car, what the big deal. Assuming u not sales person, per month $300, per month only $15 extra if 5%. One starbuck coffee already the same value>>>
c) resale value = not much difference if u plan to use it for more than 5 years
(Resale value actually caused by demand. So, if u sell this model of Honda City and Vios....which do u think got more resale value. From my experience, the better looks car will sell better unless u have nasty accident or never take care of the car)
d) maintenance cost....pretty much the same +/- 5% per year (so, u never notice much. Same concept of one Starbuck per mth)
e) You do not want to regret buying the lower cost car and 2 years later regret wanting to upgrade. That would be more cost involved. This usually happen after 2 years normally u have more money to spend.
f) pick up girls or go out with frens oso more gaya
