Part price should be Rm600-800 since just the gearbox mounting alone coming Rm500.

what a price for a small 1.0 car. thanks to p2 for the price. TNMCH...we have to pay for 1k just to change the three damn mounting. it is not a BMW, MERC, VW or even CAMRY...its a perodua kelisa.

my kelisa reach 6 years this month...3 times already change the damn mounting. tiu....auto GB really makan the mounting due to harsh vibration from 3cyl engine.

That was my reaction too when I changed the Kenari engine mounting (3 pieces) as it was more expensive than my Corolla (AE111) 4 pieces of mounting. No logic.

yes, perodua maintenance is rather expensive if compared to some others.
Well, maybe its because perodua don't actually manufacture most of these "wearable" item like airfilter, gasket, bushings, brakepads, oil filter. Most are manufactured by third party like Denso, Bosch, UMW and some are imported direct from Japan like gaskets.
So if like UMW manufacture their oil filter, they will sell to Perodua(here the price is already higher than cost price), then Perodua sell to u when u change parts(at another higher price then purchased from manufacturer).
That's why most car now separate into 3 parts; sales, service and spare part. Each of these 3S will provide better service/compliment one another and each will generate their own income.

Hope this info would help;

According to one mechanic, eventhough you change new sets of engine mountings, they won't last.

This is because the mounting cannot take extra engine vibration, many believe that it is normal for 3 cyl engine.

He asked a good question, would any car maker design engine mounting that cannot last?

He did some cleaning on throttle bodies of a few Kelisas and Kenaris, more than half improved. He believed that if he can clean up and set idling control properly, problem should be solved.

I don't know whether he was right or not, but I think what he said and did make sense. smile_thumbup.gif
