Mind sharing info here? How do a car company tune a 1.6 engine to have a similar power like a 1.8 engine?
Thank you.

- dashboard fit and finish looks good (at least for this pre prod smooth plastic installation). Production unit will come with textured plastic
- 5 speed manual
- 1.6 CPS engine..the guy claimed its power as 148bhp..i doubt it..more like a torque figure of 148Nm. They confirmed there is no 1.8 power plant.
- it can fit (from what i saw) 5 adults comfortably with ONLY 2 kids (in the 3rd row)
- aircon vent on top left and right of 2nd and 3rd seating row (with blower speed control)
- rides on 195/60 r15 rubber
- Highline will come with leather seats and roof mounted LCD monitor (price could be higher than Rm80k)
- medium line will cost less than rm80k
- two tier glove compartment on front passenger side
- delayed launch date so that the new PM can launch it...

Thanks for sharing.
quite disappointed with engine, i thought it come with soft turbo. So if 1.6 CPS means the torque would be about 150Nm.

Proton has announced the name for the new Proton MPV - the Proton Exora! The Exora is based on the name of the Ixora flower, with the tagline “Keriangan Keluarga”. The name was picked by the Name The Proton MPV competition grand prize winner Norsholihan Bt Abdul Eanich, who will get to drive the 7-seater vehicle she named once it is launched sometime in this year.
The company also revealed that the Proton Exora MPV will be priced at under RM 80000 and will be available in 5 colours - Genetic Silver, Tranquility Black, Blue Haze, Pyrite Brown and Gaia Blue. In terms of safety, all variants will have at least 2 SRS airbags as standard, but this will be as far as it will go in terms of total airbag count. The Proton Exora will be built in the Shah Alam plant. Cost of development was slightly over RM 450 million.
For more, please read some past coverage on the Proton Exora to find out more about the new MPV, expected to be powered by the Campro CPS engine. Bookings will be open at a fee of RM1,000 from this Saturday (21st Feb 2009) onwards.
