Indeed, I bought my insurance directly at the Tan Chong showroom office! I didn't even go though any insurance agents.

that means TC is the agent...

Surely the workshop repairing your car can do all the claim for you, no?
Most if not all of them work in cahoot with the loss adjuster.
The parts they claim for you are boosted a certain percentage when they claim it back from the insurance company and there is where big bucks are made in each accident.

My case is same as described
The workshop runner even tumpang me to the police station together with the car
All i done were pass the insurance policy, car card, & ic
Then wait for about 2 week with twice follow up with 2 phone call to check the status
End of 2 weeks plus then collect the car
Sure they make profit with this type of service

Making profit no problem ,I am talkiing about falsifying claims.
Repair bumper for owner say replaced bumper to insurance company.
That is why insurance company are trying to push up the premium.
How many of you actually know what was claimed from your insurance company?
All we want to know after the accident is when can get back the car, period, any other thing don't want to know!

Hi guys,

Are you all claiming using your own comprehensive insurance or claiming 3rd party? From what the TCEAS agent told me, if you are claiming using your own 1st party/comprehensive insurance where you lose your NCB, any workshop can promise you that you just need to go home and rest and they will handle everything. You will only notice increase in premium due to loss of NCB maybe half a year later.

For 3rd party claim or OD-KFK, by correct procedure the owner has to do the following:
1) make your own police report
2) get 3rd party police report
3) get keputusan penyiasatan kes from the investigating officer
4) get 3rd party insurance info from JPJ with authorization letter from your insurance company.

I did everything above myself. The TCEAS agent cum service center executive said they can help but it will take time and the police/JPJ may not entertain them (unless corruption is involved). The above are actually the responsiblities of the car owner himself.

It's your car, who else has the best interest in your car other than yourself? And let's practise transparency and say no to corruption!

i believe the insurance premium rate had not been revised since 1990. with the raising cost of living etc (staff cost, spare parts etc), the pure motor insurance company player like Kxxx and others are finding it difficult to survive. That y the insurers are tying to sqeez the workshops where the workshop in turns will cut corner or inflat the insurance claim in order to cover their cost and profit margin. Hence, we the consumer is suffering...

In the event of claim, try get a reputable workshops to repair your car. If your insurers is allow, prefer to send back to toyota, honda, tan cheong etc... where the service is better and spare parts is OEM part....
