You're dem right. But not the 1.8 engine. What we'll get is most probably the 1.6 CPS.

Thats the car I'm waiting. Hope my current wajunk can last till then... tongue.gif

I do hope we get something like this too. However, how sure we are getting the CPS engine? If that is the case, man it's really a let down. Since Mitsubishi has decided to joint venture with Proton again to develop the Waja, I was expecting the engine to be a Mitsubishi as well like the first generation Waja. I will take the Mitsubishi engine over the CPS engine anyday and anytime.

Same here. Thats exactly why I can't bear to part with my reliable 4g18. Else I've long settle for any Japs or Korean brand. cool.gif

Yes, if Proton offers the old 4g18 engine in the new Waja I will even take it over the CPS engine, no joke. As for the Campro engine, I will not consider it even if they give it to me free.

The 4g18 is about 6 years older than the CPS but still a very good engine. In the new Waja 2010, Mitsubishi may have come up with a better engine that is not only powerful but fuel efficient as well. As far is reliability is concerned, I always trust the Japanese more.

For comparison purposes, just take the Perdana's 2.0 V6 engine vs. the Mitsubishi Lancer's 2.0 Mivec engine. The Mivec engine trashed the Perdana in terms of performance in power and torque across the entire range.

The biggest weakness of the 4G18 is that it becomes gruff and unrefined after 4,000rpm, though I do give it enormous credit for being a rather thrifty powerplant.

so far my 4g18p had yet give me problem

always do drag (full rev till 6.5k rpm) at least once a month
