The hottest talk on the Singapore motorsports street right now, is the
Singapore GP. The rumour mill is churning overtime. But reports say that
the street circuit has already been designed by the same chap that designed
Sepang, Bahrain and Shanghai, and Bernie`s just about to put his signature
on the dotted line in a few weeks.

I`ve got a couple of newspaper article cutouts here and of course, my pov
as well:

Actually it could be beneficial because Singapore is like a 4 hours drive
from KL.

But would Bernie allow two GPs so close to one another? It could save
transportation costs too.

It may not be a threat to Sepang.

They`ve released the track layout of the street circuit. Mainly
concentrated along the Marina Bay - Suntec area, with a drive by of the
Merlion.

Yes, it may not necessarily be detrimental to Sepang. Actually, since
one`s a purpose built F1 track and the other`s a street circuit, they
both complement each other. And being so close to each other means that
the races can be held one weekend after another, back to back, with the
time and money savings to the teams and FIA.

Also the number of foreign spectators should be a lot higher since they
can watch 2 GPs for the price of one long haul airticket only. All they
pay extra for, is a few nights hotel stay and a shuttle flight between
KLIA and Changi. And if Tony Fernandez get`s what he wants, the
spectators only need to pay S$60 or RM140 to shuttle from KLIA to Changi.

Hmmm...another F1 street circuit. It would be great if F1 comes to Singapore
and I totally agree that it would be mean huge savings to FIA and F1 teams.

It's always been Bernie's intention to bring F1 to ASIAN countries where F1
viewership is increasing.

Unfortunately street racing is very boring with limited overtaking
opportunities like Monaco.

I like street circuits especially modern ones unlike Monaco. Someone will
always hit the wall and the onboard driver's view of a street circuit is
always breathtaking. As a driver definitely exciting maybe less for the
spectator.
