One of the most astonishing omissions in a car's specs sheet that I've
ever seen.

The intermittent wiper setting (labelled INT on the stalk)is the one
where your wiper sweeps the windscreen once every 2-3 seconds. It's
usually at the position just after 'OFF'.

Some cars even come with variable intermittent settings where you can
vary the period between each wipe.

I was quite amazed when my friend told me the Vios J did away with this
feature. I thought he was referring to the variable intermittent function
until I test drove the car.

However, the driver can manually activate a one-time wipe by pushing the
stalk upwards.

OMG! My Wira also got variable intermittent, so what are we left with?
Very fast wipping speed that will wear off the viper blade?

with no variable intermittent, does it only have ON and OFF, and at what
speed is the ON? Or is it ON with 2 speed only?

There are definitely the usual slow(1) and fast(2) settings.

I believe there's also the manual one-wipe toggle, where you push the
stalk up, the wiper wipes once, and that's it.

Well, I am no expert in this, perhaps you can install the setup for the
higher end Vioses in to yours?

So what it does not have the intermittent wiper on a Vios J?

There are many other car a lot more expensive than Vios that does not have the adjustable intermittent wiper.

Just leave it at the default single speed intermittent position.
