hi alfred,

i tested the s40 before and i like the car so much until i managed to
convince my friend to switch from C180 to S40!!!! I felt great while
hearing that my friend would like to book his car with FA but, but he
suddenly call up and inform me that SA from SM called to mention the above
incident..for ur info, the SA initially was promoting this s40 to my
friend toooo..thus, i can sense what is happening..u got the message??

Now, my friend is damn fed up and lost confidence on s40 after hearing the
news as he actually is not familiar with auto world, thus, this hoax
totally affected his decision...he keep asking me what is happening and i
think the best way to answer his doubt is to post the thread here to let
the SIFU here to help my friend..he will be following the posting to find
out the truth..

i don't feel good to release the SA name here..but if he read this, he
shud know what to do..as people is cari makan tooo..not to spoilt his
pinggan mangkok..

Personally, I like the s40 and will consider one if i could afford one
soon..

I'm not jeapardise the reputation of Volvo but his people..so don't blame
me of putting this on line..I just want to clarify the issue and make my
friend to go ahead with his black s40 order...cheers

I think kenlairk has put in this thread in good faith. Its important we
esp. the S40 owners know about such incident if it is true, so that we
can seek recourse from Volvo Malaysia. If it is not, there is a need to
trace back to SM's SA whoever he is. This is to make sure such
allegations should not happen again as it is damaging to volvo's
reputation.

Personally I feel it's a sore-loser case and the SA should not mention
such damaging allegations of the car he's selling. Even C&C SA didn't
belittle the S40 to that extent.

I think it is exaggerated. In some post I read, earlier models had some
engine mount problems. Apparently the material used is not strong enough
to support the weight of the engine and the mount soon gave way, which is
bad enough since it will affect vibration and balance of the car.
Literally dropping in the middle of the road is unthinkable. Volvo is one
of the safest cars one can buy. I am likely to think the mount gave way
and not literally dropping in the middle of the road.

It may be an old complaint. I think Volvo has solved the mount problems
in the never models.

Agree. Volvo is one of the safest car. That is the main reason I buy
volvo 'cos I am 'kiasi'.
It is the built quality of volvo that I am complaining about eg. rusted
door hinges within a year. Frown

Hi Ken! I think our friend is convinced that Volvo is a safe car if not
The Safest to own! The SM SA's plot is just not going to work in this IT
world!
