Hi,

Any owners of the S40 feel their cars vibrating when idling on neutral?
It feels very much like the engine is misfiring or the mounts are lose.

Appreciate some feedback if anyone has encountered this and got it
resolved.

Cheers,
kfvwong

generation S/V40 , our S/V40 had been known on this issue world
wide mainly on the engine mounts ,

mm.....misfire, normally happen on those old car , your is so new.
may be not, our happen mostly due to the spark plug cable coil are
cracked.

should sent back to workshop for checking as it is still under
warranty.

new design of the LHS mounting will be released.. maybe to hydrobushing
type.. since the engine suspension is a pendulum design, its quite
sensitive to vibrations..

Hi,

Quick update. Found this solution to what I believe is causing the
vibration (see link below). Just sent my car in ... hopefully it'll be
fixed.

Hi kfvwong,

my new S40 also got this problem, it is like engine vibration and I do
feel like a little bit of misfire, all these are obvious when it is on
neutral gear idling.

Are you sending your car for checking? To FA or SM? Please let me know
the outcome, I'll arrange one day to send in for checking too...hopefully
small matter..

guys.. the vibration is not due to the valves..

btw.. all the bulletins are actually from VCC but in US it is OPEN to
public about all these 'recall' even though just a 'soft recall'.. and
need to know that VOLVO US-CANADA specs are lot different from us malaysia
market especially related to powertrain, emission and safety..
