which model volvo? turbo or non turbo?

the turbo engines are recommended by volvo to change every 20K but being
malaysian 40K also no problem.

BTW turbo plugs go for RM120++ per set for the 850T5, now you can see the
reason for 40K "extended" mileage....and the plugs are not even platinum
tipped, just plain old copper.

OK I am back...I use Bosch platinium..easy starting and better
accelaration. I think it can last more than 20K..formally I use only
standard Bosch copper core. Hv you intend to do any upgrading to your
740 ?? it worth the effort. I just did top overhaul, port and polish, add
in sport muffler, direct flow filter...wah much much fun to drive and yet
not heavy on fuel..interested ???

I think that's about the top speed you can go on the 240/740/940 NA
models. The turbo models are something else.Smile

anyone used splitfire or something of the like on the 850T5 before?

I know the N/A 850 can use a variety of standard plugs eg copper to
irridiums but i have heard that the T5s have lots of problems with anything
else other than copper.
