ermm.. just wanna share some latest FC (not completed yet)... yesterday, i
fill in FULL tank, RM80 (meter indicator from upper part of red section to
a little bit more than full line).. went to KL, and come back to Tronoh the
same night (ziarah ayah kwn meninggal), and some trip made today, odometer
indicate 500km (from the petrol station)... the gauge now at slightly below
half tank...good FC?? i was driving fast yesterday, on the way to kl,
average speed is 130/140, back to tronoh average speed is 120/130.... ???

ur consumption can rival jap cars already.

for me full tank if can get 300km i'm happy

Kalau nak lebih tepat, cepat-cepat le pergi isi balik full tank. Kemudian
cek berapa km dah jalan, kemudian kira le berapa liter petrol yang dipakai.
Lepas tu buat le calculation sama ada mpg, liters/100km dsb.

ok, i finished the experiment... this experiment conducted from gauge just
enter red zone to slightly up from full line to the red zone back, i fill
in RM80, Shell petrol...

engine 2316cc, twin solex carburetter
manual transmission, rear whell drive

initial odometer reading = 20km
final reading = 600km
distance travelled = 580km

RM1.42 = 1 litre
i fill RM80 = 56.338litre

580km = 56.338litre
1km = 0.097litre
1km = RM 0.138

so, 14cent per kilometer.... my journey; Shell Batu Gajah-UTP-Gopeng-Jalan
Duta-Kg Baru-KL Sentral-Jalan Duta-Gopeng-UTP-kuar minum Tronoh-UTP-kuar
Ipoh Jusco-UTP

average speed on highway (Gopeng-Jalan Duta-Gopeng) is 120-130km/h
average speed on normal road - 90-100km/h

ermm...quite impressed... last FC i got is 100km per RM20...last service
just change air filter after 9 years x tukar!! now, i'm quite worried, the
FC seems to be 'out of context'!! takkanlah sebab new air filter sahaja i
got extra 180km.... uhuhuhuhuhuhu.... next service i'll ask my mech what
had he done to the car..... :(

CORRECTION, i filled in RM81.38...
i recalculated, got 14.03cent per km.... no much difference

uhuhuhuhu... conclusion, half tank about 300km, full tank about 600km....
yeah!!! now i can really deny that volvo are petrol drinker!! tapi town
driving, i don't think can get this figure.... for highway, logic kott...

with all due respect, i think ur figure seems too good to be true,if it
was true than i want to know the secret and ur car model and can rego
number :),was ur car loaded with ppl and things?

why buluh82 ? My 740(A) one full tank at RM1.41/L also can reach Ipoh
house without refuelling. The needle not even touching red line yet.

i don't its impossible... i did not modify or use anything, the car is in
its original spec, even tires & suspension pun follow original spec.. at
that time of experiment, i usually have 1 passenger... never mind, with the
new petrol price, i'm going to do the same experiment again, because may be
i did something wrong on the fist place...

definitely no need to topup if u fill in full tank... i am confident that
with full tank, volvos can go from penang to johor without refuelling....
because i did ipoh-kl-ipoh in single night, only turun by half tank... erm.
...but wtih the new price??? sure kacau a little bit laaa... dah le im
student, sengkek bertambah sengkek.... :(
