The harrier is for "menteri dalam negeri", not polite laahhh when talking
Volvo. The ex-girl friend likes taller car, easy to watch the
surrounding. Drove Suzuki Vitara, before upgradeg to RX300. Just
contribute a bit in Lexus USA Forum, didn't find yet such forum in the
V940 is enough for me to get much experiment and to learn the most safest
cars. Tried to come across Bimmer Forum, it seems VOCM is better in
sharing the knowledges and experiences, more jokes, polite in commenting
Willing to come for next TT ??????

original plugs can only last for 10,000km ! Which is the most economical
plugs for my 740 engine ? To me a plug is a plug, further more for my kind
of engine type I doubt performance will give/boost any signicant changes

engine very smooth. Abt $200 for 6 litres good for 10k oilchange. All in
plus labour and oil filter abt $300-reasonable. Was told spark plug for
newer models 850 onwards can last a long time but I don't know about 740.

stated expiry or upto a certain mileage need to change, there is always a
buffer, in this case mileage that allow us to exceed without the oil or
spark plug to break down completely. been using ori spark plug since i
took over this car and every 10K change, irregardless if the mechanic says
its still userable. sometime i wonder if my mech got x ray eyes where can
see inside the plug to say its still in good condition !!!!!

(some sort like miss guided), but using a warning light based on the
driving styles, number of switch On and Off, driving loading, ambient
condition such as temperature, dirt and humidity, etc...etc...
Current change oil warning light is still based on the mileage, but not
for the next generation. GM is the one, volvo shall follow in the
Regarding the spark plug, sure that it has life time depending on the
cathode and anode materials used. For Platinum and Iridium, sure can last
longer. Denso Iridium in my RX-300 (60,000 km) still ok maahh good
acceleration, konon-nya sampai 120,000 km - just wait and see. For my
V940 I changed to Volker Iridium (double iridium spark plug), kononnya
sampai 150,000 km. But every month I always open my spark plug to read,
whats going on with my spark plug. Before I did the carbon treatment,
every time I open the plug ..... waowwww black .... full of carbon and
wet wet wet. After 1 month treatment .... supprised .... very clean. This
Volker Iridium plug dah mencecah 20,000 km masih boleh tahan, tak worry
nak potong lorries during Kuantan TT ..... hehehehehe nasib baik I
potong, coz behind me took wrong road then sampai kuantan hahahahahah.

How you go about doing carbon treatment ? How long a Volvo original plug
Posted 18 March 2005 - 04:29 PM
Last time I just tried (cuba cuba saja laaah) the carbon treatment using
Dr. Carbon, and work well. Just bought 2 bottles of Dr. Carbon, then
treat through intake manifold. In JB you may contact Razali (012-7607614)
and he might help you to treat your brick with Dr. Carbon.
Regarding the volvo original plug, the change interval is around 40,000
km in condition that every 5,000 km or up to 10,000 km you open the plug
then clean with caburetor cleaner or injector cleaner. Beside cleaning,
the most important thing is that you have to calibrate the spark plag
gap. Electric Discharge spark will erode and widen the plug gap. After
cleaning, use the filler gauge (0.6 mm - 0.7 mm), insert the 0.6 or 0.7
gauge between plug gap, then ketuk2 gently with hammer until the gap
restored to the specified value (0.030" or between 0.6 mm to 0.7 mm).
Good Luck bro....

How much did you pay for the Dr. Carbon ? How did you clean up the intake
manifold ? Thanks.
Posted 19 March 2005 - 11:46 AM
RM70 for 2 bottles.
I disconnected one of the vacuum lines at intake manifold (upper part) -
turbo vacuum line - and connect the port with plastic/silicon hose
(around 60 cm length). Start the engine, pour the dr. carbon into the
hose 20 cc then wait for 1 minute. Pour the second 20 cc and wait for 1
minute. Repeate untill all the liquid (dr. carbon) empty. Wait for
another 20 minutes. Then increase RPM to discharge the black-blue-white
smoke out from tail pipe. Maintain the RPM untill all smoke gone.
If you have no turbo vacuum line, you may use FPR vacuum line. I think
that Razali can help you to do the treatment.
When do you plan to go KL ?, just call me 019-3640377.
