Hi e10,
I owned a Wira 2.0D too, and yes ... you can change it to auto and for
more powerful engine, you can change the engine to turbo diesel. I have
intentions to change to auto and a turbo engine too, but I am still
looking for a reliable mechanic to do this.
Anyone out there knows any good diesel 'sifu' in cheras or ampang area?

Changine to auto should not have been a problem. What i think is just it
will make u frustrated only. due to the characteristics of the auto box
taken from a petrol version, it could change gear at higher engine rpm, at
that time, the engine might be out of power, just imagine going up windy
road up u-know-where near kl.
Change engine to turbo engine will have your car disqualifying for the 50%
tax reduction due to green engine. JPJ will not allow you to keep your
green engine status with any engine change, eventhough it's a green engine.
Adding a turbo would be of logical choice. Anyway, just my 0.02 cents.
Regards.

Hi. Actually there's nothing to it. But being confused, you are talking
about the gearbox or the engine. If gearbox, I dun think JPJ will saman.
In our vehicle registration card, if my memory doesn't fail me, has not
state whether it's auto or manual. Right?
As for turbo engine, they have a record of engine block number. Well, they
will not open up your bonnet and check of your engine and etc. if you keep
your external look mild. They shouldn't have guess what's inside. BUT, if
you ...... "touch wood" involve in a collision, then you might have got a
problem with the insurance. Trust me, they check everything just to get
themselves outta trouble of paying you. (Sorry if there are insurance
agents out there. Just my opinion. Might be wrong or whatsoever) Last time
I heard a guy mod his beetle into a non-ori engine (hint: turbo, etc..)
got rammed from behind and he dare not report to the police coz his car is
not ori anymore (hint: illegal).
Comments?

I did consider to the same thing, but changed my mind. Someone told me that
if you just add a Turbo kit onto a non turbo Engine, it will short life the
engine. The solution is to totally change the whole engine that already
preinstalled turbo. I had some offer me the whole engine with installation
for 3.5k

3.5k 2 xpensive lah,4 ur ifmtn not just a simple add in turbo kit, i
actually rebuild my engine with 4 pistons fr the 4D68 mitsu turbo engine
i bought 4 RM800 only, a new sets of turbo ring as well,(the piston ring
n piston is a diffren one fr non turbo wira)all the parts require 2
transfer as well in order 2 complete the mod, that is a turbo wira diesel,
all 4 all about 2k+ only, worth it consider it a new rebuild engine.
