chlorox - glad to hear that you survived the crash albeit with some
broken bones. Where was your humerus fixed? Wasn't it HKL was it? The
plates can be removed after approx 18 months. With regards to your hand
function, most of the time when the humerus is broken, the nerve gets
caught and damaged. SOmetimes permanent, sometimes not. If you are
showing signs of recovery from able to straighten your fingers and then
your wrist, there's a chance that the nerve may recover almost fully.

I too decided to get a Volvo after smashing my Iswara into a construction
Hilux. The whole front of the car was damaged beyond recognition but both
me and my wife walked out unhurt mainly because I decided to swerve and
hit the guy side on instead of head on. After that shock, sold (I mean
dumped) the Proton and bought a 940.

Good luck with your recovery.

RGds.

clorox,

I turut simpati dgn u. semoga cepat sembuh.I pun pernah accident dgn volvo
ni. my 740 sliding & berpusing dua kali (not overturn)on the karak highway
& finally 'bang' to the concrete divider in the middle of the highway.
luckily we was in a volvo. kereta hancur belakang & tepi. nyawa anak bini
selamat, without single scratch. repair pun very minimum, about RM 5K jadi
tip top balik. kena banyak diy utk recovery macam asal.

I bukan nak condenm mercedes, I pun minat gila kat mercedes especially
W124, W210, W211 & S class. tapi I think because of demand yg terlalu
tinggi buatkan ianya jadi terlalu mahal. overpriced gila gila.
ini bukan provokasi tapi base on my experience. aku pun suka drive W126
bapak aku bila aku balik kampung di kuala selangor.

good bargain is a volvo. i tak boleh afford mercedes selagi i duduk in
malaysia. so, i think u perlu volvo. I'm sure bila u dah ada volvo, u
takkan menyesal & tak mau naik kereta conti yg lain.Smile

drive safely & take care

you&wife lucky enough survive with no injury.sure trauma for sometimes
right?
during the accident,i already at hometown kelantan to celebrate raya
aidilfitri.so i was treated at husm kubang kerian.can remove the plate?
glad to hear that.sometimes the plate very painful.wish to take out.very
uncomfortable.but my hand still shaking, tremble.everything done use left
hand.now my body not balance...the left muscular bcoz only use left, but
right side limp&shaking.

plan to buy a 2nd hand auto iswara only... but my dad say no.better think
of safety.he say get the european made cars...generous with
steel.strong.after the accident, now i realize that so many danger could
happen on the road.anytime..anywhere.
last night saw a mint condition 940 with aftermarket 16" sport rim.dark
blue.so beatiful&look very tough.

chlorox - yes, the plate can be removed but only after the bone has
healed sufficiently.

You really need to go for physiotherapy to strengthen your right hand.
Gotta work hard on it. Good Luck.

Dear Clorox,
I share the trauma with you too. Last year October I had an accident too.
Badly broken humorous bone 5 place and total dislocation of the elbow.
(Tercabut)
Broken ankle. Hospital give up as amputation was only way to save me.
Transfer to a specialist and they did a couple of operation, skin
grafting, screw and etc. Lots of money spent. Was on wheel chair for 2
months. Luckily I have my hand back though not 100% as before. Still doing
my physiotherapy. It is important if you want to recover and have your
functionality back. Don’t give up.
I‘m back to work Jan this year but not without a proper shield. Got a
240SE.
Get a 940. I miss a good buy at that time.

I sympathize with you all who met an accident. I too was hospitalised but
not because of vehicle accident. Feeling frustrated because we are not
ourselves as before.

Maybe you can share with us how the accident could have been avoided.

Volvoman, it is a better try to love what you have rather than to have
what you love... keh..keh..keh...

regards..
