I notice my Volvo 940 not so bright while on the way back to home town for
CNY. Thinking of changing the light bulb. Any advise for a brighter bulk &
what is the spec.. where to get them & cost estimate...? Thanks!

Zhafri,
What's the cost like for 240 reflectors? Perhaps 940 one not much
difference..

could be your low beam's too low
at first i thought mine's not bright oso then i noticed that the lighted
patch was just 6 to 8 ft. from the head so i adjust it higher

You can try to remove the glass lens and clean it while rinsing the
reflector (but don't run the reflector please). Takes you about 3 hours to
remove the whole assy and re-install.

glock19's right. Don't rub the reflector. It can be easily damaged. What I
did was to soak the reflector in soapy water & then rinse it with running
water.

ermm.. the reflector used now is the Taiwan one, RM110 for one side
(complete set with seal rubber & clips)
i'm not sure with 940 one...

yup, upon my readings, reflector will easily 'ruined' once touched (am
wondering if the water from our hands contribute to 'rust' there?

had my 240 headlamp wash. yup, the old story seems to hold truth. our
hands likely has some chemical re-action to this reflector. and i also
heard the same goes for bulb.

my opinion would be to take out and see if the reflector still shine and
no rust like, then wash it. if rust, can afford, change to ori. change to
a higher bulb voltage(i.e100watt) not recommend as it will fade away the
reflector in time.

i guess with new car having new reflector(even my wife kelisa)so bright,
we tend to assume our lights no longer bright but in fact its the same
except for some whom could be due to dust set it during the years.
