Hey,
Do any of you have an exploded diagram of the rear suspension for the
850t5 wagon?
I asked "san-denki service" at taman segar to give me a quotation for new
shocks all round, and the price seems to be high, especially the rear (he
claims that there is a self levelng system).
Do I have any other aftermarket options?
How much should a set of originals cost?
How much would the dealer charge me to replace 4 shocks?
Rgds,
Chen.

all 850t5 in malaysia are using self leveling suspension. this suspension
is called Nivomat - made by Boge - now Sachs.
unless the previous owner changed the suspension otherwise, the stock
suspension is all nivomat.
Nivomat is known to be a little hard on uneven surfaces. That is why the
ride quality is on the poor side. Changing to Koni or Sach Sport suspension
will improve the ride.
On 1 hand you get poor quality ride but you get good carrying capicity and
the rear does not sag - not matter the load.
On the other hand, upgrading to Koni/Sach, you get better ride quality but
the car will start to sag if you have people in the back.

BTW, if you upgrade to koni/sach, the ori springs need to change to harder
ones.
the current stock springs are too soft for standard shocks.

sillycar, not sure how much. I've never changed the stock suspension as it
is still in good condition.
sillycar, after you're finished with ur meeting in prai, give me or glock19
a call and we can meet up.
