Still with orignal SOHC , only modified with electronic distributor. The
earlier owner already changed the gear box , fifth gear engage just like
normal gear, without pushing any other buton.

5th gear engage?
and ur reverse gear is at the 1st gear position right? if so its a M47.
worse than the 4speed+OD gearbox. in terms of horse power holding bcoz
most M47 came in NA volvos. only came in 1 version of 940LPT.
eletronic distributor??

yahlor...... still SOHC... dohc gotto get the 16valve head ... direct
plonk on... but the problem is need to custom make and drill to install
an extra tensioner...
SOHC is good up to 300horses i guess... if i ever go beyond that i gotto
get forged pistons, conrods, bla bla and for ur info the 16valve head
gotto be hardened. bcoz the 16v head comes off non turbos. with those...
good to go up to 500ponies Tongue

but its just a dream!!!

Yes, to engage reverse gear must with a small button pressing. Some
telling me this type of gear box are powerful. But anyway so far give me
no problem, only this engine not responsive enough. The camshaft also
makan abit, the sound of the engine not so nice. With that condition I had
travel to Cherating, Penang, Rompin, daily use , so far okey and full of
joy.

M47
if u don't use it on a turbo its alright
it can hold up to 220hp max... kinda hard to achieve without turbo on a
volvo engine ;)

eh if u want a cam i got a K-cam. its a performance cam, ORIGINAL VOLVO,
only found in canada. it is with higher lift, but still can use back your
valve springs (original volvo ma), and it comes with adjustable cam gear!

can advance ur camshaft timing ;) so the features of this camshaft is...
damn alot of mid and high end power with less low end. this is countered
with the adjustable cam gear. advance it to 4degrees or 6 degrees.
somemore yours is manual, shudn't notice too much of loss in low end
power but a great gain in high end!

u can do a research on these cams and see all the positive results. i
can't use it coz my car is a turbo and i was running on autogearbox. they
call it the K cam or K grind cams
