Hi all.
Thought I share this with all.
Was at Carrefour SJ during the weekend. While having breakfast, I glanced
out thru the window and noticed that a man was acting suspiciously near a
Kancil parked below.
He was trying to break the rear right hand window of the car with a stone.
After 2-3 tries, the window cracked and with a quick swift with his hand,
the window disintergrated in pieces. Cooly, he grabbed 2 bags out of the
car and join his accomplice who is waiting nearby on a motorcycle.
Both of them cooly rode out to the street and the rider was seen smiling
sheepishly away !
Damm..! The motorbike no. is WLL 9246, Blue. Cannot remember what make.
The person who break the window is lanky, crew cut hair, while the rider
is fair skin, normal built * looks like college student as he was wearing
short pants and t-shirts (very unassuming theif). He shorter than the
pillion.
Anyways, I jotted the number and report it to Rakan Cop on my mobile.
I managed to inform the owner of the car later.
So, guys and gals. Whether its valuable stuff or not in your bag, please
put it away and out of sight. The damages may cost more than the goods
stolen!!
take care..

What suprises me more than the guy breaking in...is that u cooly sat there
eating ur breakfast, without raising an alarm
Today it was someone else's car...tom it might be ur's....and someone else
watching ur car getting ransacked.
These people thrive coz they know the mentality and the attitude of the
people. Sad but true.

Good information.
There's always an overlook from our ownself where preventive maintenance
is still required no matter how GREAT is your alarm.

hi masoom,
give cire a break... he did mention that he saw it through the window. i
believe he did the right thing by jotting down the license plate. he
wouldn't have had enough time to rush out to do anything.
anyway, cire did the right thing... he deserves some credit for it!

Hi jaycee,
I'm not here to offend anyone buddy
I didn't mean that cire should have barged out of the restaurant, and take
on the robbers...ofcourse not brader...obviously if they are committing a
crime they would be armed as well. Having said that, do u really think that
the robbers would be so stupid to use a real license plate? Obviously, it
would be a stolen bike. So IMHO taking down the no is of no use, as no one
would be able to trace them.
But, if u gather some attention towards them, they are bound to flee from
the scene...you might just about save someone's valuables.
Having said that, i fully agree with cire's message that one should not put
any bags/valuables in the car...even if u go to makan for half an hour.
Believe it or not, for safety reasons (after reading in one of the threads
somewhere), whenever i park my car in any parking lots, i always leave my
dashboard drawers "empty & open"!
At least when any potential robber peeps into my car, he knows beforehand
that its not worth breaking the glass of my car, coz there is nothing in
the dashboard drawers too

sigh... how sad, it reminded me for my Dell laptop lost in 1-U back on
year 2002. Though of leaving it and picked something from a friend within
10 minutes, my rear glass was broken and forever bye bye with my gal...
shit~

Have any of you heard of security film before?
Most of us tint our cars. We spend anywhere from a few hundred ringgit to
a few thousand ringgit.
What if a product exists that can deter and eliminate this threat forever?
How?
By applying a security tint onto our windows before tinting. The cost?
About the same a V-Kool which is about 2k. Tinting is also done which
gives a better heat rejection rate than many other branded film in the
market.
If anyone is interested in this product, send me a PM with your contact
number. I will put you in touch with the person who does this security
tinting. He will demonstrate with and without - you do the bashing
however which way you want - with brick, motorbike helmet, baseball bat,
hammer, crowbar, etc. Once you witness the impossibility of your glass
being shattered, you will be a believer.
And the incident in Carrefour will no longer happen (provided that the
Kancil did the tinting). How much is a Dell notebook? I think not more
than RM 3k to RM 5k. That will also no longer be subject to petty
thievary.

The advice to NOT leave things in your car in plain sight is nothing new.
All of us have heard it, read about it, talked about it a thousand times.
I think even the police are fed-up of giving out this reminder!
Yet, I find it so strange that many, many people continue do it and end
up having their cars broken into!
