Anyways, back to what this thread started out as i.e. tires, Maniac kinda
hit the nail on the head with the Thai-made GSD3s. Will go hunt for the
article but I do remember the kwai lou mentioning something about making
the tyres harder to withstand the many potholes in Asean countries.

Another tyre to consider is the Dunlop SP9000 Sports. I know a bit old in
the tooth but still a pretty good tire. I have no complains about it but
again, sounding like a broken record, the GSD3 is better. Check out this
website on a tire survey carried out by tirerack:-

Ok la, i'll be less-menacing for once and answer the bit about what was
said bout the GS-D3.

The Asian-made GS-D3 is tailored and developed according to consumer
demands in these parts of the world; you might laugh, but Asian consumers
typically want everything. Of course, Goodyear maintains that they have
in fact produced a more superior GS-D3 in Asia than the one made in
Europe! So yes, the GS-D3 made in Thailand is different, but it doesn't
mean it's necessarily an inferior product to those made in Germany. The
tyre companies do make a lot of effort to assert that, because there is
absolutely no reason why they would produce an inferior product that
would hurt their brand.

Unless we have the technical specs, we won't really know how different
the tyres are, but being a tyre of the same design, chances are that they
are very very similar, perhaps one is made to withstand poorer roads here
(hence more protection, less bent rims), the harsher, hotter climate,
etc. But we can only speculate.

Actual ownership experiences can always differ from one to another, esp
taking into account personal biases, driving styles, cars, etc. Who is to
dispute what an owner went through with his/her set of tyres? I love my
KUMHOs!!!! They are EXCELLENT!!!! KID U NOT!! Wink

check out the latest Torque magazine, they have listed and rated most of
the tyres available in the market since year 2000. at least we can know
what are the choices we have.

Yes, I find the tyre has an extrodinary grip on both wet and dry
condition.

Initially, I also anticipate some kind of tyre noise due to the tread
design but some how very convince after fitted and tested these tyre on
some challenging trial.

I feel the F1 tyre is worth every cents..

By the way, Quicksave has done a good job on the wheel alignment.
