I have some questions on the autostart function on some alarms and as an
ad on to the existing alarm module.

When you press a button to autostart your car, your car keys will still
be in your hands right? and the key hole position will still be on off.

do we still need to insert the car keys into the hole when we drive? how
do we turn off the engine then?

I plan to install one but am still having doubts. It's just a cool
feature :p

After you remote start your car, then you disarm, then you insert the key
to ignition-on position, then drive.

This sequence applicaple to Clifford remote engine start.

An add on..wow ...wht brand is it? not too sure abt an add on coz I think
if its the same system or brand it will be better. Anyway just my
thoughts.

Yes like fooyc mentioned u need to insert the key and turn on the
ignition ...no need to crank. If you don't put in the key for a given
time the engine will automatically shut off...so if some manages to drive
off your car, it will shut down if the key is not inserted.

To turn off the engine when you remote start but have not put in the key,
there is a button combination you can press to do so. The one I'm suing
has that. I'm not too sure aboout others.

Yes it is a cool feature since u can get into your car all cooled down
since you can have your air cond on when u remote start.

Remote start can also impress girls

Anyway on a more serious note. If u do decide to get an alarm system with
remote start function. Make sure that the system has the overwrite
function that remote start won't work if the car is NOT ARMED. This is
for safety reason.

A good alarm system with remote start will not start the engine even when
to button is pressed while car is not armed.

Another feature to look for is that once you've remote start and the car
still armed, try to use the key to open the door without disarming. See
whether it will trigger the alarm and whether engine shut off. Good alarm
system will shut off the engine.

Just opinion. Master Foo is really an expert. Confirm!!

if the alarm come with immobilizer (need actual touching the contact point
to disarm the immobilizer), can it be started remotely?
