Hi I'm new. Can someone advise me on a good immobilizer I can install in
my car? My budget is anywhere from RM1K to RM1,500.
I was told that the Cheetah brand is the best in the market. Can anyone
verify if this is true?

hello jadedbell,
Refer to this website:
http://www.caralarm.com.my/
They are the main distributors of the well known brands of immo's,
including cheetah.
If possible get it installed by them, as it is important that the immo's
are installed in a professional way and if u get it installed at an
accessory shop u might be quoted a higher price.
Also, a forummer mentioned about wireless immo's...they should be quite
interesting as well...i dun have much info about those, maybe u should do
some research about it.
Happy shopping around

Its a know "trade secret" Caralarm themselves don't charge cheap, unless

fooyc,
I didn't about the "trade secret"
But, i was quoted RM 250 higher at an accessory shop in subang, for the
same cheetah i installed in my car.
Moreover, that guy from supercode...i forgot his name, came over to my
place and installed it for me.
And i think the guys who install such immo's n stuffs, should be a bit
trustworthy, coz they know where the cutoff point lies isn't it?
Btw, did u find out about the brand of wireless immo's firezy mentioned
about? any info on those?

masoom-san,
They gotta protect the dealer. Usually if dealer "outsource" the
installation part to Supercode, there's additional charges, more so, if
you get the top guy to install. He did an excellent work on my previous
car...took him a good 1/2 day..haha..
