Hi all:

Recently someone was trying to break into my cars, kelisa and vios in the
early morning by breaking the keyhole, they manage to break into kelisa
and steal my player, but they didn't get thru my vios, however both
keyholes of my vios was badly damaged.

My questions are:
1. Is vios locking mechanism harder to break thru? Or Kelisa lock is too
simple to break?
2. I have no idea how they managed to disarm my kelisa while they open the
door, my neighbour said the alarm was triggered for a while only, but when
I went to check my car and I saw my kelisa hazard light was blinking and
the player was gone.
3. Why isn't my vios alarm triggered while they were trying to break the
keyhole?
4. How to prevent this type of thing to happen again, I mean, when they
trying to break the keyhole the alarm will triggered.

BTW, check with Perodua and UMW, Kelisa keylock cost me RM568 per set
while UWM quoted my RM286 per set for vios....blood ###### Perodua.

=> same, is b'cos of time (they break in kelisa 1st)

2. I have no idea how they managed to disarm my kelisa while they open the
door, my neighbor said the alarm was triggered for a while only, but when
I went to check my car and I saw my kelisa hazard light was blinking and
the player was gone.
=>once they break in another person wait at car bonnet ready to cut car's
trigger sound ... (that's why many Avanza owner complaint there is a back
lock on the car where the theft can cut the wire from the front tyre site)
or they just use metal ruler press the door indicator more easy, once they
close back the door, you would not realize it (my last time wira like
that).

3. Why isn't my vios alarm triggered while they were trying to break the
keyhole?
=>due to your vios only have basic alarm function unless you have add
movement/ultra sonic sensor.

4. How to prevent this type of thing to happen again, I mean, when they
trying to break the keyhole the alarm will triggered.
=>upgrade the alarm by adding more sensor on it....

=>Something I would like to ask ... let said if the car alarm triggered,
what would you do .... call the police and sit at home lock all the door
(add more lock on it?) or open door take "parang" go outside and flight???

- I don't think they cut the wire, because the alarm still functioning
normally now.

ur neighboor said the alarm sounds for a while..how 'while' was that?split
second??few seconds??if a few seconds, what lextan says might be right..

another theory:
the thief observe what light blinking when ur alarm engaged (or they might
already know)...let say signal lamp blinks when u press the alarm
remote...they just need to short circuit both negative and positive
terminal of ur signal lamp to blow ur alarm module..force open ur
door, alarm sound just a split second and then the module blown..i got this
from a friend,a wireman..so it's a theory for me as i never seen and never
try this before...

seriously guys...p2 lock mechanism is easy to open by force..that one i
already tried before...several friends left the keys inside..i help..

It is not a theory. It's true. Nowadays, all the latest production of
alarms have incorporated a fuse between the alarm module and all external
connection like signal bulbs and so on. So, when bulb is short circuited,
the fuse will blow. Hence, protection the alarm module and siren can work
as usual.
