Hi wfhan,
This thread maybe a bit old, we have a very good GPS solution with Google
Earth for free, all you need is Windows Mobile/PocketPC with inbuilt GPS.
Go to
http://freewareppc.c...dtracking.shtml, download
3dtracking.exe, install it on you PPC. Then go to
http://free.3dtracking.net/, follow the instruction to register yourself
and you are good to go. It's easy and free, no string attached.
If you are planning to track more then 5 vehicles with more added security
features like geofencing violation, no go zone violation, fleet management
report and etc pls contact me.
Murali

A vehicle tracking unit is provided for a vehicle of a type comprising a vehicle data bus extending throughout the vehicle and at least one operable vehicle device connected thereto. The vehicle tracking unit may include a vehicle position determining device, a wireless communications device, and a controller cooperating with the vehicle position determining device and the wireless communications device to send vehicle position information to a monitoring station.
A Vehicle Tracking Systems are electronic devices installed in vehicles to enable vehicle owners or third parties to track the location of a vehicle.
The main difference between the two products is the following; a vehicle tracking unit is the hardware, normally a small box with a GPS & GSM antenna, which is located covertly within the vehicle. These "units" are often monitored by a third party and are primarily for security. A vehicle tracking system will add a software package onto the basic tracking unit. The software package will allow authorised users, such as your companies fleet manager, to track the vehicle via a secure website and mapping software. As well as real time tracking various reports can also be run to show the vehicles start and stop times & speeding reports etc. Most tracking systems require the user to sign a 2 - 5 year contract but Chameleons Asset Track vehicle tracking system dose not tie the user into any long term contracts.
