Hi all,

I would like to know what are the additional stuff that I can do to secure
the car. I have a Honda City with Cobra alarm (std alarm) and a steering
wheel lock.

I would appreciate if any sifus here could help me with better solutions as
to securing the car. I would like to keep the alarm standard so as to not
invalidate the warranty for the car.

Ok, adding additional alarm would void your warranty. But the security of
your car is more important. I've changed mine and till now, no problem
whatsoever. Adding visual deterrent such as pedal lock may help in some
extend. And get a tilt sensor so that when the tow truck tow your car, the
alarm will activate.

Please refer to your Honda service center/dealer for Cobra Malaysia
contacts. They have a whole bucketload of accessories to be add to your
existing alarm. Big Smile

the standard cobra alarm is not sufficient. comes basic with movement
sensor and even then is not very sensitive. first thing, add in
window/glass sensor, so when breakage happens, alarm/siren will sound
immedisately.

the cobra siren cannot be upgraded as its part of the alarm circuit box.
wanted to change to louder siren but not possible after checking with cobra
rep. notice the standard siren is not loud especially in open areas!!

you may consider putting in captor as additional precaution. basically you
have additional alarm/siren/immobilizer. problem is you will have to
remote gadget - 1 for standard alarm, 1 for captor. secondly you pay
RM150/year for captor service. costs of unit roughly between RM2000-RM2300.

hope info helps.
