how about those with green engine? Very general.....eg. a Prado petrol 2.7
r/tax is about RM 1.5k to Rexton 2.7 diesel r/tax is RM 1.3k (after green
engine rebate).....

what will the new tax rate be then with budget 2009???????

Hi guys,

Would appreciate if someone with more info on this can enlighten us a
bit. I searched through JPJ website nothing there yet.

Would appreciate if you could shed lights on difference in road tax
for "Green Diesel" VS. "Non-Green Diesel".

No need to hurray so much, theres not much diff.
At present a 1.9 petrol is rm 315 and my 1.9 TD's
road tax is rm 334 so what is there to shout about.

Only those with no green status like MB 240D will
be happy.

non-green diesel sedan hardly see nowadays, may be in some rural.

you are right. the 50% rebate for green engine was cancelled, so we xantia
diesel car owner won't get much except for a plate of char gui tiao!

Looks like the real savings will be for the higher capacity engines and not
for those < 2.0L ...

shit...if green engine rebate being removed, i have to pay 1.5k for my road
tax.(as equivalent to petrol)....got to top up some more....ah !!!!!my
present road tax only RM 1.3k after green engine rebate.....

pls enlightened me.....

I think we have elected some very stupid ministers. How can they remove
the rebate for green diesel engines? What message are they trying to get
across to the public? That it is ok to pollute the air with older diesel
engines? Next time vote them out!!!

I have just renewed my diesel road tax in Sept. 08 and no change to
price's.
