Try playing Colin McRae 4 on the PS2 with the new 2.5 lock2lock steering
wheel from Logitech...it'll blow your mind.

is it that REAL? somehow pc games never really blow my mind, in my opinion
because they are merely games, not simulators like GT3 or f355
challenge.... i mean try driving a stock standard car in GT3, switch the
aids like TC off and really feel the car... u can feel the rear wheels
loosing grip while u brake, accelerate hard enough and u need to
counterlock. its that kinda realism that i like... nice...
there is this f355 challenge machine in melbourne that actually has a real
6 speed stick shifter(not sequantial like regular machines) and clutch
pedal, for the heel-toe specialist.
the only problem is the graphics doesnt make it look like you are doing
230km/h
how i wish if there was a carrera cup simulator.....

My son said that he saw this new game on TechTV called RallySport 2
Challenge which is for XBox or PS2 and it has amazing features, including
inertia in corners.

Personally, I find that driving simulators, like flying simulators, lack
the feel in terms of situational awareness as you do not get enough of
the environment around you. But they have certainly improved A LOT since
the days of Test Drive 1 when it was just a rather flat 16-colour game
where you drove up a hillside (I still have the disc if anyone wants to
run it but you need an old machine). At that time, what impressed was the
AI of the game and you could still use a keyboard.

I don't have much time or interest in simulators these days but last year
when I was in Japan, I tried the latest PS2 GT3 (or is it GT4) and was
very impressed by the graphics... almost like a real movie. The driving
feel is realistic enough and that was proven when YS Khong could clock a
pretty quick time on the desert course!

last time i played GT2 i find that its not very realistic in terms of car
damage, in fact, i always the tactic of banging the rear of the car in
front to slow down when approaching corner, in reality the car would be
badly damaged, sometime i also like to force the opponent car out of the
track when cornering counteract my understeer, in reality this is not
possible
