100kmh in 10sec compared to 0-100 8sec is like worlds apart.

Asking for some input here...

My 168 AC don't seem to do its job very well. What mods have you guys done
to get the AC to work much better and where did you go to? Oh yeah.. what
was the damage to the wallet?

Hi recce,

Before you go about changing stuff in th e system, I suggest you do a
conputerised diagnostic first to pin-point the problems that may be
present.

Th3re may be different types of gases inside, plus water and hydrocarbon
contaminants which will lower the cooling efficiency. Also it can measure
the amount of oil that can be recovered and impending compressor failure.
The type of compressor oil used before is also a major factor that can
affect the compressor efficiency.

Cheers

I think what has been advised is correct. The first thing that need to be
done is to identify the fault and not many A/C people can do it.

I did a general service at Kool Aire Sunway last few years, change the
blower (RM600-new), change the compressor (RM450-recond), valve, thermo
amplifier etc. Cost me about RM2k for all and to date it works just fine.

I did bypass the heater function,....but now I will probably want to
connect it back so that the climate control function works as it should
be. Probably will be visiting Dino at freshtool when I have the time to
seek for parts to get the heater functioning again.

BTW, can any of you share your typical fuel consumption for your
164s/168s? I'm obviously interested in the 3.0 12V but I'd also like to
know the consumption for the 24Vs and the 2.0 TS

My 2.0TS consume fuel less that my PV6. No major modification done except
open pod filter, grounding wires and a DIYed voltage stabiliser.
