GoToy...
not just speaking hot air either. ;) Have had muddy boots inside the
cabin, and driven with water above my ankles INSIDE the cabin... at
moments like that I think back to the days when I made the decision to go
"basic model" and feel so thankful I did't choose a model with carpets!
*chuckle*
havent had water high enough to have damaged electric windows, or
mirrors...and NEVER want to be in THAT position! hehehe

Just registered a Ranger last Friday. The road tax will ready this coming
Thursday. Cant wait to drive the Ranger. I have been longing to own a pick
up and finally I sold of my 9 years old Satria for Ranger. This Ranger is
equipped with new accessories such as reverse sensor, window visors, rain
sensors, new sport rims, new side steps and the other standard
accessories. I booked the XLT, but the color I wanted is not available at
the moment and I do not want to wait becuase I need car to go to work,
therefore I settled for the one with new accessories. I only need to pay
additional RM700.00. Just wondering, which brand of diesel is the best for
diesel engine (off course for my new Ranger). I have been using Shell for
my petrol car, not sure whether I should use Shell for my new Ranger or go
for another brand? Or does it really matter because the diesel in Malaysia
is not clean anyway?

Hi mzasmat,
FYI all petrol or diesel in malaysia comes from the same refinery, for
petrol the different is just the additive which added on to the road
tanker before deliver to the station.
For diesel, I’m not sure if there is such additive. For me all diesel are
the same. I get my diesel for my Tdi Disco from Petronas, which I’m sure
it 100% local company.

" FYI all petrol or diesel in malaysia comes from the same refinery"
what are you talking! You mean there is only one refinery in the
country....which is Petronas! You'll have to read more.
"I get my diesel for my Tdi Disco from Petronas, which I’m sure

so is Petronas fuel the best or you want to be patriotic?

Hi all,
whether all the diesel in the country comes from one refinery or not is one
matter.
another matter is the additives put in the diesel by different brands
(Shell, Petronas, etc).
another that has been forgotten is the cleanliness and operating procedures
at fuel depot and petrol station! Put the best fuel with the best
additives into a dirty tanker or underground tank and its now crap fuel.
if the petrol station is in the habit of letting underground tank stock
deplete til only a few hundred litres before restocking...then you will
also risk getting dirty fuel.
I just got a tank full of dirty fuel from an outlet in USJ2. My hilux is
having trouble idling and is down on power, running roughly, within 15
minute driving on this tank full of fuel.
Its not bad enough to take to workshop and drain the hilux fuel tank and
clean and refil. (not yet). but I cannot wait to use up the fuel as much
as possible and then refil (hopefully with decent fuel).
Maybe also change the fuel filter at that point also.

I went to all oil Refinary in penninsullar except the one in malacca. I'm
also went to Bintulu plant some time ago. What I find out, every company
collect the fuel there before they go to their various station/counter to
add the addative! one refinary cover some area for all the petrol
station/pump regardless the trade name!
For Klang Valley Diesel, they are mixed with some amount of petrol due to
only single pipeline use to transport from PD refinary to KVDT.
Do your research before comment!
Yes, I'm trying to be patriotic.
