TDCiranger,
I think u mean fuel cut at speed 160km/h.

Normally, we hv speed limiter, not rpm limiter.

For off road, it is common to rev more than 3500rpm.

curious about the comfort of your new TDCi. how does it feel compare to
Triton and Hilux? better? they all claim theirs is more comfortable.
another thing is the cargo canvas ie where it covers from top of kangaroo
bar to the rear bumper. got zip where you can split it into 3 piece .
hunting one for my splash. i thing i would like to have if i change to
TDCi is the front kangaroo bar which comes standard in splash, the three
bar protecting the rear windscreen and for tying machines, also the tying
bar with 3 hook on both sides of the cargo cab. why they don't have these
very practical items for new TDCi where they are a must items for heavy
loader like me carrying hardwares and machine?

Hi GadgetMan,

Based on your experience with your mileage claim abovementioned, that
means it's about 16 sen per km for mix city-highway driving and 15 sen
per km for long distance driving. In that case it's not very fuel saving
because even my 2005 Ranger (manual) also consumes 16 sen per km for mix
driving. That means the new TDCi saves in the sense that it has more
power out put but in terms of sen per km, both the old Ranger and TDCi do
not vary much. Other Rangerians out there...do you guys agree?

10L per 100km or 16 sen per KM (mixed) is average FC for my 5 yr ranger
manual too.

The new Ranger claim to be at least 22% better in FC than the old Ranger.
However, very few new Ranger on the road.
hard to verify.

Lets put this to perspective...

the readings that I get 604.5KM on a full tank i.e till the fuel warning
light is on. This was long distance - 58.825L.

For town driving 551.1 KM with the same amount of fuel.

Unless my calculation is off...

Mine old ranger, got no fuel warning. Meter got lamp for this, but no fitted.
Highest amount of diesel I used is 67.xxL, no reading fr meter, read fr pump.
Beyond this the engine start to choke, bad for fuel pump. Total volume of
tank is 70L.

Gadgetman,
So far how ur ride? how the TDCi built quality?

gadgetman, ya... if possible please elaborate more on the new ranger...
few potential buyers say the back seat is cramp, not comfortable etc.
911, my fuel consumption for a 6-7 splash is arouond rm0.18 - 0.19/km.
that really worries me.. too much to pay...
