Just collected the new ranger about a week time, so far so good and also
went thru the 1st 1000km service which cost me within RM180. Went to Muar
last night, not much vehicles on the road, and I manage to push this
beast to 160km/hr and it`s still have the capability to go on, but just I
don`t have enough guts to let it go further...I feel that it`s as stable
as a saloon. The power output is awesome. Great truck by Ford...again :)

The performance at low rpm is very good in respond (below 2000rpm),
you'll feel the maximum torque once rpm above 2000. I use 4th on normal
road, can take over cars very easily without changing gears. Oh, I bought
the manual TDCi as I dun really like the feel of Auto Tans (I test drive
the Auto 1 in Ford Selesa, JB).
The rpm is around 3000 when reaching 160km/r.

TDCi,
I tested the manual at Tebrau City. Short drive. It is responsive at mid
rpm. But I miss out to test at low rpm.
Low rpm torque is important, as I usually upshift early. Energy saving.
Rpm only 3000 at 160km/hr! This is low compare the old ranger. At this speed,
I guess it will be way above 4500rpm.
U fr JB? Maybe we can teh tarik somwehere.....

911,
I think my driving pattern are somewhat same as you, upshift early for
fuel saving, think should`t have any problem on that...my rpm at 2000 and
below while driving slowly around taman-taman.
Personlly, I think this TDCi able to reach 180km/hr (maximum speed as
indicated in the speedometer), but I not dare to test la, cos not so
familiar with this truck yet... :D
But on a long straight road, the acceleration is excellent, even my gf
sit beside can feel the energy of `G` pulling her body against the seat.
I struggle a lot when choosing between truck and car, but at the end
still go for the TDCi, with RM86k can get 4WD, turbo and 2.5L...that`s
more than enough, I rather go for performance than comfort.
The only cons for this truck is you got no space (covered) to keep your
belonging when raining, everything sit on the bedliner will get wet... :(
Yup, me from JB and working in Senai Industry Park.

TDCi,
With rm8xk u can't get a decent enough car.
Get a canvas cover. In case u carry thing and it rain, u can put it up.
I fr JB, stay near Johor Jaya, can get lot of goodies for Ranger.

Sorry, but you can't. For safety reasons, it's speed limited to 160
(indicated).

ssho,
I'm curious about the speed limit of TDCi, where you find that
indication?? I never come across with any speed limit since the first day
I got it. Maybe can get some info from manual...
