magazine even commented that the packed showroom and people actually
signing the order form was last seen in early 1990, when HK's economy was
much better.
One reason is the good quality the SUV can offer but mostly due to its jaw
dropping price of HK$110k and about HK$160k for 2.0 & 2.7 versions. For
comparison CRV and X-trail is at about HK230k and that is for 2.0 only!
2.7 version comes with all leather and a shiftronic gear. ABS with 4-disc
all round & 2 airbags. Not sure about the lower version.
Here in Malaysia, they have quietly launched the 2.0 version and priced it
RM130K for 2WD and RM150k for 4WD. Very pricey indeed.
Asked the sales person why her showroom got no "show car", "Oh, this is
a "lang mun" (won't sell) car and you have to go other showrooms to have a
glimpse."

couple of weeks ago, priced to go for around RM70,000 at todays very weak
exchange rate.
At August prices it would have been around RM65,000.
I had the chance to see the new Kia Sportage in real life instead of
magazince photos and whilst i thought it looked quite nice in the photo, i
was disappointed by what i saw. Makes the Tucson look better.

I think malaysia is going to lauch very soon because
I read the newspaper car advertisment last week, one
tiny Adv say accept booking now before launch, but didn't
mention about the price for Tucson or any other detail.
Just Hyundai tucson.

Saw one in Seremban main market 2 weeks back, it was a S'pore registered
vehicle. White in colour and look real nice.
If it is priced as what happened in HK. I will be the first one to flock
to the showroom and pay the deposit. Forget about waiting Toyota's Asean
SUV which is going to launch in a few months time.
By the way, there was a review on the car in The Sunday Star yesterday.
Anyone read it?

I'm very impressed by the official website of the tucson, however I still
don't know where I am able to actually get a good look at the vehicle,
nor am I able to find out the price of it. How much does it cost?? I am
currently seeking an SUV and if it is priced lower then what other makes
that are around, I might be interested in getting it. Furthermore would
there be a price increase when the AFTA is implemented here?

it's Tucson-compact SUV. i test-drove one (s'pore) this morning.
it's elantra platform, using 215/65/16 tyres. 4 disc brakes, 2 air bags,
ABS, TCS, 4-speed steptronic. NVH is good, crusing at 60-100km/h is very
comfortable. power wise, a little sluggish from 0km/h, but kick down is
fairly good as the transmission is quite responsive, n u can easily use
the steptronic when it's neccessary. braking is good, small turning
radius, but suspension a little 'hard'. 3 adults seat comfortably behind
while the boot space is not as big as CRV or X-trail. if CRV n X-trail
were called 2 1/2 windows, then Tucson is 2 1/4 windows.
IMO, a fun car to drive, commanding view, yet not as bulky as japanese
competitor. i think it's a cool vehicle for ladies (easy to park mar...)
this Tucson is sold for less than $90k in s'pore, while below RM140k in
Malaysia.
it's a fun SUV,
(+) well equiped, pretty.
(-) a little pricey, as most of us in m'sia will still go for other 2.0
japanese SUV. however, if CKD version is as good as this CBU, n the price
could be reduced to around RM110k (INCLUDING ALL ACCESSORIES), then it's
value for $$.

I'd get it if it's going for 90k,..

For that kind of money, i'd rather get the Escape 2.3L eventhough the
list of accesories is shorter.
