How long your battery lasted for diesel rig?

Hei BR1, where do you buy the battery? May need the contact. Takes a few cranks before it can start. Voltage is ok though since mid 2010.
My Kembara...almost anywhere also can.

neighbourhood tyre shop, 012-2238760, just drive there and he know which model right for you.

Don't have 2 used batteries. The first ori battery yes and still working for low current drain applications. The second was disposed together with the car when I traded it in.

OH! smile_tongue.gif , sorry I meant I still have 2 spare battery changed just b4 CNY, so I now keep for use like you said! hahahhau - misunderstood me - not ask you still have 2 batteries or not,

That's OK.

If you like some suggestions how to use the used batteries, here are some:

1. Go and buy a dead second hand UPS (only battery is dead) so should be cheap. Remove the dead battery from the UPS and connect your used battery to it. You can use it to power your fish tank aerator or pump in case of power failure to keep your fishes alive if you have fishes or use the UPS for your PC and Router.

2. Buy an inverter to power fluorescent lamps like the hawkers do and use it for camping, car repair or for anything outdoors in the dark.

3. If they can fit, replace your children's battery-driven toy vehicles with your used batteries. They will last a lot longer than what comes with the vehicles.

4. Use your imagination to meet your needs.

I read earlier that somebody keeps a spare battery in case the one he is using conks. Bad idea. The spare battery may conk out first so it will just be a waste of money. Most of us have 2 cars. Just have a HEAVY DUTY jumper cable handy and if your diesel rig battery does not have enough juice to crank, use your second car (even a Kancil) to help it crank with its engine running and the jumper cables. No need to have a spare battery especially if your batteries should last at least 3 years. Buy a good, intelligent fast charger (for maybe about RM300) and that will be a better investment than a spare battery or the wasteful practice of throwing away a still serviceable battery after 1 year.

No need to have a spare battery especially if your batteries should last at least 3 years. - Dont think so can last so long - last time 2 times last 1yr + only (went dead without warning - luckily was park at home) as my rides are diesel

- Not for spare (still not konk yet but chage b4 it is and took back (with wife instruction) after new replacement cos wife wants to sell to old new papers man hahahah- you know lah lady every cts count!!! I also dont know how much can sell?

smile_thumbup.gif Spoken to some UPS vendor supplying to oil platform. Lifespan of battery started ticking once they fill in the water due to chemical reaction. Need to constantly charging once every 6 mths if not using else kaput even faster.

Based on above common sense will tell us car battery will behave the same. The longer you keep them be it brand new, the shorter their lifespan.
