Wheel Lock System from Enctech

It is sorry to hear that the Camry of Michael88's
friend had just been stolen and the Camry had an
additional alarm put in from UMW. Like Mdrudy had
suggested to go with Onstar or Checkmate, but they
costs a bomd and also provided that there is enough
GSM or GPS signal to track the car once it is stolen.
I feel very angry (at the thieves) and also sorry for
the owners who lost their beloved Toyotas, or any
other make for that matter. One day, I happened to
come across this new anti theft system from Enctech.
It is a mechaical system which locks the wheels when
it is activated. This makes the car unmoveable even if
the car started. I arrange to have a demo at our TT
session on the 14th. One of our member, Kilogram had
test drove the car. More questions can be address to
him. We had work out a group discount(10
installations) from Enctech.
So far, me and David had shown keen interest in it.
Anyone else? Some photos from our Nov TT session at:

a remote control. The hydrolic arms and disarms by the
car battery. After the system is armed, and even the
power is cut off, it is still armed. There are gears
inside the module made of titanium and they last a
long time. This system is transferable to any other
car in the future. After the system is armed, it will
be triggered to work only when you step on the brake
pedal. The system can be use as a secondary backup to
the car existing alarm and will not interfere with
them because it is hydrolic, not electronic. For a
better indepth, you can call Mr Tee at 8070-9105. Just
mention that you got this info from the Toyota Club.

And what's to prevent the thieves from towing it away
on all 4?

In order to tow the car on all 4, the thief still
have to move the car into the trailer bed b4 towing
away. IF the wheels are all locked, how can he do
that. Unless he has a very strong winch to pull the
locked wheels tires against the road, other wise it is
quiet hard to tow it. Also, if a thief decide to tow
away the car, no alarm system in this world can stop
it.
This system does not have a siren attached to it, it
is just a hydrolic device installed between the master
cylinder and the brakes lines.
Let me give you a brief run through of this system.
Scenario 1. - Anti Theft
1). You parked the car, get out and arm your alarm
system, follow by this wheel lock system.
2). The thief breaks into the car. The siren went off.
Within a minute, he deactivate the alarm, starts the
car and engage the gears and attemp to drives off. But
the car won't move. Check the brakes, not engage.
This wheel lock system will prevent the car from being
driven away
3). Car is prevented from being stolen. Accessories
cannot gurantee.
Scenario 2. - Anti Car Jack
One exception, you need to keep the remote control
with you, seperate from your car alarm remote.
1). You left the car keys in the ignition, got out and
pump petrol. Upon completion, the thief go in the car,
start the engine and attemp to get away.
2). You immediately activate the wheel lock system.
Effective range is 30 meters. The thief drove the car
away. THe next traffic light, he step on the brakes to
stop or to make a turn. THe wheel alarm system
activates and slows the car down to a complete stop.
The car cannot be driven after that. The car can be
recovered in a short amount of time.
These are the 2 things which interest me very much.
Netstar, I believe will works well provided if there
is GSM coverage, and nothing can prevent the car from
being driven away. Unless the owner discovered soon
enough, the car might not be recovered?
(Please corret if I am wrong about the Netstar, I am
not very fermiliar with it).
Please give me your opinion on the above 2 scenario.
Thankyou very much.
