I was at Starhill over the weekends to check out the Vios, some brief
notes:

- I prefer the City for its more dramatic looks than the conservative Vios
(not a bad thing though as some still prefer 'norm' looking cars).

- Vios built quality is a little disappointing compared to better built
and finishing of the City. Though the 1.5G has an attractive gear console,
nice metalic finish. Vios exterior chasis 'gaps' are not close/narrow
enough.

- I don't like the center console display.

- Vios rear seats are too cramped, legroom is quite ok but disappointing
headroom. I'm average height of 5ft 7". City seats are smart and versatile.

Now here comes the surprising thing during my visit. The rear doors (left
& right) VIBRATES!! when opened. Both cars 1.5S and 1.5G same effect. How
bad? Quite bad I say. It last at least 2 seconds and you can even see it.
My friend verified it, and even the sales person felt it.... and he just
smiled. The front doors are ok, as it's heavier. I guess is the an
assembly fault, shouldn't be a design problem as I doubt Toyota could
missed it. The light-weight Kancil doors are not even like that.

Can someone verify this?

I think the sales ppl who seen it should address the issue to UMWT
immediately.

I saw at least one label near the autogear of the display Vios at Starhill
with Thai wordings. And there was some stickers near the sun-shade with
the number P52 or something like that. 52nd production car? Or brought
from Thailand which could explain the Thai wordings?

I think we should not be overly alarm on this.

I was at Starhill and i didn't notice anything about the rear door. Sat in
it several times including the rear. I could have miss it since there was
alot of ppl.

These 2 car are for show oni....and are the 1st to be roll out. I doubt it
when thru the QC as UMWT was rushing to show it to the press. Moreover, i
don't think these 2 would be sold to anyone. So quality wise, it will be
poorer.

Wait for the launch, i'm sure the built quality would be way better.

yes, i felt that the door seems to vibrate too. like something inside
loose, strange now that someone mentioned it also. this is the rear
doors, never try the front as too many people going in and out.

one thing i hear is that the Toyota's Thai production plant is one of the
best in the world, so maybe our locally assemble ones will be the same
too as it is a design fault.
