Look at the spec of both engine...the difference is so little.

Vios Altis
80kW(109 Ps) 81kW(110PS)
142 Nm/4200 146Nm/4400

In real life, do you think you will able to differentiate the difference?
Means that you are paying for 1.5 engine but getting 1.6 performance. It's
one of the most efficient engine available.

If cannot wait for Vios test drive, go and test drive Altis 1.6 ..should
be similiar but more powerful because of the less weight. Then compare
with the Honda City.

Vios should be more powerful since it's more lighter than altis 1.6 and
city by another ~100kg

Notice one thing...

Vios strong point (engine) is City weak point...(new engine, realibility
not proven, oni introduce in 2001 and use 8 sparks plugs).

City strong point (interior - beige colour and ultra seats) is Vios weak
point...poor interior colour choice.

Hmmm...i wonder if i can buy a City and put in the Vios engine or easier
way is buy Vios and put in those ultra seats.......pity the Vios dashboard
won't match with the colour of the seats......sigh...

City's Engine although it has been introduced in 2001, but it has proven
well by the sales of the Honda Fit / Jazz....

Now, Toyota has fight back (the Fit) with Wish. The Fit/Jazz design seem
to be aged in Japan.

The colour of the seats may not look nice but it is comfortable. It is in
fact using seats with springs from Camry.(I am refering to Vios in SG). I
don't know if the Malaysia Vios comes with these quality seats or not.
View the below web site to see comments on the seat.
http://www.vios.com.sg/vios/style.html

Though the seats are not as flexible compared to City but it is surely
more comfortable.

Take a look at the metal bar being use on the rear seats, it looks cheap!

Vios uses the conventional 4 spark plugs but the DSI uses 8, imagine if
you were to upgrade the spark plugs to high performance type, it would
cost double.

yaloh...the city's seats are nice that you can fold them flat to stow
more bigger longer stuff....but they are so thin, I wonder how
comfortable they are? But as long as the driver's and front passenger
seat is good, then ok too, coz dun care about back seat too much.

I only wish that the Vios rear seats can fold down at least but they cant.

I think after much thought, I would still go for the Vios...it simply
looks better and perform better. Or should I wait for something else from
Nissan? *sigh susah only*
