After 32 days and 6,100KM, I have the following findings on the car's
fuel consumption.

1. First 1000KM as expected the FC is horrible I got betwen 350KM to
400KM in light city traffic (20%) and highway ,

2. Past 1000KM that I got round 420KM to 450KM,

3. After 4000KM I got between 460KM to 500KM

4. Present at 6000KM I managed to do the following, after filling up with
full tank of petrol at RM80/tank (56.33 Litres) I did Shah Alam to Alor
Gajah (ITM Lendu, Melaka) drove to Klang then back to Shah Alam at
highway cruising speed of 140KM/H-160KM/H going and 80KM/H to 100KM/H on
return I got 350KM with just half tank.
With the balance in my tank I could probably travel another 200 to 250KM
for every without a need for refueling so I guess it is true that the FC
has improved over time.

Conclusion
This car has low point on city driving FC, pretty decent FC for highway
driving even by my old Waja Auto standards since the car is handicapped
by it's heavier built, the larger capacity engine and the auto engine
braking on the accelarator once you depress the pedal. I'm going for my
10K service before end of May.

To all those wanting to improve your FC, drive the car to it's fullest,
better still let me drive and allow me put off my extra mileage on my car.

Heavy footedness has a penalty, that is high fuel consumption, for those
not willing to put up with it, apply less pressure on your right foot and
enjoy the ride.

pretty impressive figures for a 1.8L. Good for you.

On your suggestion to lay off the mileage from your car, I would gladly
join you in this crusade as well. I'm clocking way too much with my car.
Any one who wants a little run in exercise? Evil

2 Weeks after my first drive of my optra , milleage hit 1300.
The FC:

1. First tank : 410KM
2. 2nd tank : 430 KM

both in city driving.

current tank : 300Km after a centre mark. Not consider highway, it is the
road from Kuantan thru mersing to JB.

i think it is ok hope improving soon.

going to service my car tomolo, ( own expenses)

Just bared in mind, frequence short trip drive(less then 10km) with your
optra will coz higher fc. However in highway, full tank with a decent
speed could last above 600km.
