Supra?..hearing the word " Supra " makes me feel giddy at times, i've been
in a Supra before, its a legend of its race class, the sound of jet
engines maaan!!!...2nd generation Supra engines? whats the difference
between 2nd generation Supra engines and todays Supra engines? i dont mind
fitting a turbocharge/supercharge under the hood but my dad is thinking of
fitting a 2.4 new Camry engine into it, do u think it is wise to fit in a
brand new Camry 2.4 engine into an old body? remember, this car is more
than 20 years old ;)

your Cressida needs a longitudinal (north-south) orientated engine. Hence,
I doubt the Camry 2.4 engine will fit your Cressida.

to extreme speeds =P anyway, this person from Garang Racing, his name is
Mr. Zulkiflee said that he can easily fit a toyota Supra engine or any
toyota supercharger engines under this hood...hearing the word "
supercharger " makes me feel supercharged already. But my dad is thinking
of fitting in a brand new Camry 2.4 engine into it. Is it wise to fit in a
new engine into an old car such as mine? i mean, everythings old, the
engine mountings may not widthstand the weight and maybe must reinforce or
something like that but im not sure about that. Is it wise to fit a new
engine into an old car? (this car is 20 over years old). Advise me please.
Thanks =)

Since your one is a RWD, i dun think that camry's 2.4 is
quite 'compatible' with your one. So i think the best choice is the 2.5
supra mk2. Other than that, super charger is 1.6 so i dun think it has
the ommph if fitted into such a big body.

If I want to modify, I'll get a Bengwara instead.

drum brakes which are adequate for a mild 2.0 normally aspirated engine.
Do bear in mind that high output versions of your Cressida (such as the
2.8 DOHC EFI version) had independent rear suspension and rear disc brakes
to cope with the extra power. You might want to retrofit independent rear
suspension and rear disc brakes if you opt to fit a higher performance
engine compared to your Cressida's present engine.

what/who is a "Bengwara" ???
i cannot bring the old engine back to its original pristine condition. . .
the engine has runned its life out, i dont want the car to breakdown when
im rushing at times....complete engine transplant, definitely~!

engine transplant is certain, but to be sure, he is going to start the
engine this coming Monday, and will make a good assesment about the engine
and performance, since it has done more than 200,000km. My dad wants me to
get some info about some of the engines that can fit the Cressida, one of
it is the 1JZ-GTE engine that has been mentioned in the previous replies.
How much is that particular engine and can anybody here please find out
for me the price and how old is the engine. My dad is thinking of getting
an engine that has 5 years old in it. How much roughly is the price of it?
Is the engine easy to find in Malaysia or does the engine have to be
shipped from Japan? Thanks again =)

fuel consumption so it's most likely a 2.0 will have to fit in. Any
suggestions from anyone, any 2.0 Toyota engine that can fit into my car?
