hi all, I am a newbie here. I had booked a vios about 2 weeks ago but
feel so regret now after knowing that Hondo has received such an
overwhelming response and the price is such attractive as well .....feel
like being cheated, coz the salesman didnt offer me any free gifts or
discount for an early booking(for vios). Wonder if vios will reduce price
to the same level as Honda.

Hi Anna,
no regrets, dun worry... but i believe whichever make be it Honda or
Toyota, you`ve made a good choice but i guess ur pretty impulsive by
booking the Vios first. But i believe UMWT will hv a very gd price
revision. Just give it a bit of time as of now...

or you could pull out frm the booking. i reckon the sales will counter it
with whatever offer.. heheh.

the Vios shud be a good car given Toyota's reputation. So it really
depends on you as a buyer whether you want to cancel your booking or wait.
City will still be a cheaper car, whether better only time will tell.

I booked for the vios too. Just need a reliable and good looking car to drive around
the next couple of years. But for the price which isnt confirmed yet, its so tempting to
jump to the City, of course i might regret later. But frankly the Toyota policy of wait-
and-see and lets-not-reveal-anything mentality is quite unnerving. At least they can
give early bookers more info like the final price and what kinda specs we can be
expecting. If they stick by 95k for the G model i sincerely hope that the interior will
come with leather and wood trim as standard. The lower end model looks even
better with the 2 tone interior compared to the higher end one with the depressing
grey undertones.

UMWT is profit motivated and will try to charge as much as possible for
their car. Honda Malaysia is rebuilding its image and as a challenger, has
to offer more for less.

Whatever the final price of the Vios may be, it will NEVER be lower than
the Honda City - this much we know!

Annabell,
Welcome newbie! Smile You should never regret buying a Toyota - it is a
solidly engineered car and is usually better built and longer lasting,
when compared to a Honda. Maybe you regretted making your decision too
soon!

One of the first things you should do after taking delivery of your Vios
is to come for the TOCM TT`s and meet your fellow Toyota owners. Click on
the link below to check out the activities we had in the past... Smile

Unkel flee,

Which corporation is not profit motivated leh? :D Ditto on Honda's image.
It got tarnished pretty badly a couple years ago. My friend was
complaining all the junk those salespple shoved together with his car
(Civic) and how boring the interior looked.

I had learned from the forum that the interior part of Vios will be lower
in quality than the new city. So I wonder if the UMWT will do sth to it
as to compete with the new city if it insist to set their price sky high.
I trust that Toyota makes no bad car but Honda has its reputation as
well. So UMWT should not undermined its rival's performance especially
the sales volume for launching a cheaper but nice car like new city.
Anyway, looking forward to a better deal for vios!!

To flee: Thanks for your invite, but I dont think I am able to meet you
TOCM TT's fellows since I am in Sabah now...:P Anyway, can I join you
guys by bus or taxi??hehe

To anek1: the salesman told me that my car will arrive around JUNE..

To crickyt: Wat colour have u choose??

annabell, check with the salesman you booked your car with, as the latest
info puts the Vios G @ RM82.5K and the E @ RM76.5K.
