ok guysss,
my dad in favour of the new City to the Vios 6:4
reasons... price wise and features loaded.
he's not a garang driver but a demure old chap. he's anyway a honda lover,
i knw he misses his old Accord 1.8M... powderful stuff!!!! neber knew dad
was a-beng once.. heehheh. not a modded fellow...
So i broke the tradition by getting a Toyota but he commends that the Altis
has better fuel consumption, comfort and handling control compare to his
old faithful. So now I guess he's back to the Honda tradition.... So
goodbye Wira Hello City!!!

Why cabbies or transport co. turn to toyota, nissan, mercedes or the rest
is becoz of the reliability.

Hi EZ,
Thanks for the link, it does give allot of knowledge about CVT. I also
learn some more from HCOC.
Btw, after reading most of the comment and also web sites, I realize
sometimes we tense to decide about the performance of the car base on what
we know and experience before. For an example, most people will talk more
on the power for the car and the way it respond to our needs. How many of
us talk about cleaner environment? Perhaps fuel consumptions would be a
main discussion sometimes but most of the time it will be clouded by the
power that we need for the car.
I believe those people who bought a Ferrari etc never ask about the fuel
consumption at all. If they did, I guess the sales person would think that
they are not the right customer.
Anyway, come back to a point of view where we want to win both world. Fuel
consumption plus cleaner environment & Power. I drive a manual car and I
know how a manual car perform. Using almost the same reason, I shouldn’t
compare a Manual car and Auto performance at the same cc engine level.
Similar to this example again, perhaps we shouldn't compare VIOS and CITY
for performance as well since these 2 cars using a total different
transmission. Since CVT in city is pretty new for most of us, I suggest
that we should understand the characteristic of it which the web site that
EZ and HCOC provided.
From there. I start to understand how the car should perform and how it
should be driven. If I use the conventional way of how an Auto car is
driven that I may find something that will not fit my expectation. Putting
my self in a CVT shoe, now I tune my self to drive the CVT way. Once I got
my car, I will test it at the "S" mode using HCOC suggestion. The logic is
there but the problem may lies whether I can get use to it or not?
Similar thing on the middle speedometer for VIOS, perhaps most of us will
not use to it. And It will take time for us to understand it. Similar to
WAJA car owners where out of the sudden, Proton swap the wiper and signal
lever locations. It does irritate me when I try to give a signal to the
right, the wiper went off instead.
So lets see, once we get the car, lets get use to the CVT way of driving.
Base on those scientific factors given, I believe the logic is there or
else Honda wouldn’t come out with it at all. Once we get use to it, we may
love it more than the conventional Auto car transmission. But if you are
not ready for a change, perhaps a Vios will not give you any surpruse at
all. Once a Zen master explain, if we do not empty the glass that is
completely fill up with water, we will not be able to fill it up with new
one. We may missed out some good stuff here.

Chris, on one hand your Altis might get jealous if she sees a City parked
next to it. On the other hand, it might hate each others' guts. As a
compromise, they could learn to live in harmony and who knows they could
even "try" screwing each other. He he he.
