every car has it's problem (wake up .. nothing's perfect)... and i'm sure
every single person in this forum probably have a bit of a problem here
and there as well...

i think the stuffs that we've highlighted in this Chevy forum are kinda
diversified here .. and it's really hard to look for them like this.

Hence, i'm initiating this thread specifically to discuss about the
small/big discrepancy that you've found about your new car -- and
hopefully, can also share the experience here (with an open mind) and also
how you manage to rid of it.

my optra so far
- some very mild rattling noise on front passenger door. Probably
something inside door not properly tightened during tinting. But it's
negligible ... so, I'll just fix it at SC on my first service.

i'm still in the midst of discovering my 2 days old optra... will update
for more if found any.

my car abt 800km already 1 week plus old, love my car hahahhahahhahaha

yesterday while stuckin kl in a massive jam moving along at 2nd gear, got
some vibration sound coming from the centre aircon vent, got me worried
but after a little while no more sound. hope it doesnt happen again.

also when motorbike pass my left hand side can smell petrol small. i think
that the optra 1.6 does not have the aircon filter. is that rite?????

optra 1.6 one week old. On reserve gear, the engine sound gets a bit
louder (with the aircon on) but sound goes off when i turn off the aircon
(while still on reserve gear). once i am back on 'drive' no more sound.
this started on the 2nd day of getting my car. anyone knows what it is?

Erm, so far for me, 4 days old car, hard to critique... Optra 1.6 ICE is
really not up to expectations. Playing CDs, sound too muffled.

Design of fuel screw cap cover holder... fuel cover door gets in the way
of the fuel pump nozzle when we pump petrol if you use the door to hold
the screw cap.

1. passenger front seat bottom horizontal bar make metal noise.
Very evident on any driving condition.

Manually went down to pull the bar and it kinda snaps into place, but when
tap with finger the bar still give sound. so now driving no prob, no sound
but curious if it will go out of place if the seat is moved around.

update
- i've also noticed a soft chirping noise when my car was started from
cold (anytime, not just morning) .... sort of like coming from the dash
area ... don't think it's air-con. Noise will go on for approximately 10 -
15 mins through journey ... and will go away when car is warm. Very
intermittent. But it's still negligible ...coz it's very soft, won't
notice it if weren't really paying attention. my number 2 list to
highlight when i'm going to service my car.

if im hearing more types of noise, this car is going to SC straight.

yc, your SC still has not replaced that faulty RPM control thingy?? what's
taking them so long? i was told that HICOM's commitment is any replacement
parts shall be delivered within 24hrs if it is avialable in M'sia. if they
need 2 take from Thailand or S'pore, than it is 48hrs. can anyone confirm
this?

so far, the only issues 4 me r:
1. brakes feel spongy. the brake paddle can almost touch the floorboard if
i brake hard. will get the SC 2 make some adjustments. i wud prefer the
brakes 2 feel more firm i.e. better feedback when braking.

2. occasionally, i hear some soft growling noise comming from the air-cond
which last for abt 5 sec. wonder what's causing it?

440ci, have you witnessed this issue yourself? Sounds quite bad if they
have such poor QC!

Michael, handbook recommends that we kinda warm up the engine when our
car is still new.... try that first lah, after 500 or 1000 if still have sound, better
check properly.

hmm ... i managed to figure out that the noise is actually coming from the
dash. Esp put under hot sun, the noise will be more apparent. After cabin
has been cooled off by air cond ... the noise will gradually disappear.

Hope some tightening by SC would fix the problem.

Washed my car for the first time yesterday ... didn't wax coz it's rainy
in Penang these few days. heheh..
